I'll start by saying although I've been collecting since the beginning, I usually buy one to open (or more depending on how I want to display them) and one to keep in package. (Although lately, I've been buying 2 in package) I've never been good at predicting what will be rare and what will be a peg warmer. Anyway, my question is….do you think the TRU Exclusive 5 pack with Tomber with oil can (Paris Espionage) will be one of those in demand later on down the road? I've noticed lately that it is the only 5 pack that seems to be sold out, or almost sold out. I paid regular price $22.99 for it. Since the other 4 Cars in the package are plentiful, that means I spent $22.99 for one Car. Any thoughts, especially from some of the more professional buyers/sellers out there.

I just took a close look at Tomber. He has a spot on his forehead. It looks like someone shot him right between the eyes LOL. Guess he'll be going back to TRU after all

It must have been Holley Shiftwell getting rough with the informants – she's new to the field ya know. Sorry you got a dud, no fun.

Rarity is not necessarily an immediate selling point – look at Dirt Track Doc Hudson – sure, you can make money on it now – but do you have the room to store it for years on end and of course, does anyone really care that it's Tomber, a character with no lines and with an accessory that does not actually even seem canon to the film? So, it's impossible to say with certainty for everything if it will be highly sought after because of scarcity (some others are easily to guess – Bessie) 🙂 so my feeling is you should not hang your retirement on Tomber with oil can …

Since the Tomber I have is defective he will be going back to TRU and I probably will not buy a replacement. I'm really not that interested in the money value of Cars. I collect them because I love them and I enjoy the hunt.

Better hope Obama doesn't get re-elected because if he does you can kiss your charitable deductions goodbye!

Yes, I'm so looking forward to not being able to deduct my mortgage interest from my taxes and getting taxed on my health insurance as if it were extra income! I think I'll celebrate by not being able to afford going on vacation next year! I think somebody just needs to keep this change.

Umm… Hey Met?
Tomber does have some lines in the movie. I have only seen the movie once but I remember he had lines because I really liked him as a character (he is such a cute car!!!).

"Electroshock? Are you kidding me?" Yeah, good call, I-L-C. Tomber had quite a few lines and a fairly pivotal role- although, in no point of the movie was he ever seen "sippin' oil".

Right, no oil. This one was an easy pass for me, even when the pack was on sale. It is kind of weird that he gives Finn such a chase in the initial market scene, when it turns out that they are such longtime friends (or friendly associates) though. I did choose to buy the You Da Bomb Mater pack though, as I'm sure my son will appreciate it.
