After only a week some forums are already getting hard to read. What is it going to be like at Xmas time when "I saw it at Target" runs 35 pages. Show new posts is at best a bandaid.
Can certain forums be 'hard wired' to put the newest post first? (as the blog portion of T5 does)
If not, I think the moderators will have to close or delete certain forums on a frequent basis. (as you do with the trading forum)

Well, the way typical forums work is the most recently replied to topics move up to the top of the list, but not each individual comment within those topics. The exception is if it's a "Sticky" topic because those are always at the top no matter what.

I'm finding the restored Forums a lot harder to read than the older non-scalable version. I'll try and make a list, but its hard to compare without seeing the old format side-by-side. It has something to do with the layout, fonts, options, etc. (how specific is that! )
I also visit T5 a lot on my cell phone, that has always been hard, but the latest forum is really a tough slog on a 2" screen. I may be the only one using a phone browser and I'm not expecting you guys go to a lot of trouble, but if there's a built in routine that detects a mobile visitor, it would be great if there could be optimized settings.

I thought so too when I first logged in this morning. Just takes some getting used to. I actually like it better now than the previous format. Can't comment on the phone thing. Never had much luck figuring that out.

I completely agree. With the old forums I could comment and reply from my phone. Now with this new forum setup I cannot post or comment on anything, just like regular Take 5. Totally bummed!

I'm having trouble making sense of the new forum honestly, and it's kind of keeping me away. I think the main thing is that format is so busy…all lines of similar type without much separation or graphics. Definitely the fonts are too alike (in style and boldness) between the headers and the topics.
The main thing I'm confused about is that I think the old style showed several threads under each topic, but now some have just one, and others have more…why? I might be wrong, but I think that's what's making me feel like the new format is almost intimidating…inaccessible?
I really had a hard time (and felt pretty dumb) posting my first thread…I was looking for an obvious "post" button, and finally saw the math-required thing. Now that I get it, it's fine, but part of the overwhelming nature of the format is that everything looks alike. (And I lost the first post entirely when I used two image links and received the notice that I could only paste one…but it wiped out my content altogether so I couldn't fix it.)
I also like chronological rather than reverse order on posts, mainly because that's all I've ever seen. Maybe a lot of this could be changed individually on a preferences page I haven't seen? I could use a primer for sure.
Not complaining!! Grateful for the forum and Take Five…just adding my reaction.

I agree with John as far as forum usage on a phone which, unfortunately, is my primary computer-ing device. I'm making an effort to post here so as not to get left behind, but it is not easy. Everything just looks jumbled and unorganized, looking at pics is darn near impossible, and the reverse chronological order thing makes it more confusing in this format, especially in a thread with multiple pages. Oh well, I'll keep my chin up, keep trucking, and hopefully I'll get used to it if I don't go blind in the process.

I checked it out on my iPhone and it's actually easier to take in. Maybe with settings I can adjust the fonts on my computer? Also, I think I'd like to take away the first section, with the unread posts. Maybe that can be eliminated through settings too? (Some have more than one post and I don't understand why.) I'd rather just see the menu of topics that's below, but I like seeing more than one post under each, showing most recent first. That's it! 🙂
