I thought that the Super Chase cases were not distributed to brick & mortar retail in the US, and that you had to buy each whole case from online resellers in order to get a Super Chase, hence the consistent eBay sales of $50 for each Super Chase car. By the way, it costs more than $100 to purchase a singles case, so I don't understand the value of buying a case of repeats just to sell a Super Chase at a loss(?). Just my impression as someone who read the posts but decided the non-US-movie Cars were not vital to my collection, and hence completely ignored them (great way to save money for other Cars too….). Please do correct me if I'm wrong….

That is pretty freaking LAME! if in order to get them you have to pay a redonk amount of money to the secondary market to get them. Whats the point in them being a super chase if you cant even super chase them at the stores?!? That is a terrible move by Mattel. At least put half or better into cases that are distributed to the open market. …Weak.. really weak Mattel.

I thought that either flash or long ge were available at retail (before i started collecting in July or so) Frosty only in his viewing market, and the other two were in the case of all cases after having several cases cancelled. Maybe they had plans, but the terrible case assortments didn't let them sell enough to get them out.

The only Super Chase I can recall ever being found in the wild, besides Frosty in Australian Targets, is this tale of a Flash found in an Australian Kmart: http://tinyurl.com/anqpxcr
I'm glad they never went out to retail stores in the US, we have a hard enough time finding regular releases, let alone regular Chase cars.

I wasn't interested in the Super Chases until I saw Frosty. Of course I ended up getting all the other SC cars and then got Frosty last. I'll probably keep them on card I think.

Flash was found three or four times in the wild. Sadly it was all overseas, and mostly in Austrailia. I believe one person found a Flash in Belgium.
If I am correct, there was only one report of finding a Long Ge in the wild. I think it was in New Zealand? Can't remember exactly.
Frosty was found literally everywhere in Austrailia. That's the only Super Chase that ever found its way to the mass market.
Memo Rojas Jr. and Vitaly Petrov were never found anywhere except online.

Well, since mattel would never admit to anything that might even remotely interpreted as off the original plan, here's my speculation …
http://bit.ly/XMeykU
so other than the people who wait for retailers to open every morning and drive a 200 mile loop and vist 25 stores EVERYDAY, this oddball situation turned out best for the general collector.

They'd be on Plan J before getting anywhere near a good idea – and that would be "put 23 of Francesco and McQueen and one super chase together, I'm sure our reseller buddies will have no problem selling those" lol
