As a new collector and even newer member of T5, I'm trying to figure out some strategy and I would like to hear everyone's feedback. I have been able to find some things on ebay for reasonable prices, but most things end up selling for more than I am willing to pay.
Most weeks I find myself in one of 4 Walmarts, 4 Targets or 2 Kmarts in my area about 3 or 4 times a week on the way to work or during my lunch hour. I often find some of the harder to find items, but if I already have it, I don't buy it.
So, should I be getting these and putting them up for trade for some of the older items that I don't have or is everyone on here already getting these new ones themselves and I will be stuck selling them on ebay?
Thanks in advance for any insight.

Buy a few extra…. We all do with certain cars…. Try to trade them if nothing else keep the receipt and take them back. Also by picking up some extras you help clear the pegs a little faster and speed up the time it takes to get the next case In!

Trading is the way to go. I started collecting a little under a year and a half ago, and if you don't have trade-bait, it is a lot harder to get the cars that you need.
A lot of people sit on a bunch of cars, like 10 of each car. But if you find a new release, that they don't have yet, then they'll release one of their precious. Precious!!! 🙂
There is a ton of great people that will trade through multiple people to get the cars you want to, you'll get to know them as you hang out on the cars sites.
Have fun!

I have started to pick up extras for trade.
I've gotten so much of my collection through trade.
So much better than eBay prices and everyone I have made trades with is incredibly fair.
Good luck and happy hunting!

I've traded a couple times and definitely agree everyone here seems great. What shocked me the last time I made a trade though was that it cost $10 to ship a package out. The USPS prices have skyrocketed. So when you are talking small numbers of Cars, the price per car really starts to rise when you include shipping.

OK, so I picked up some extras and posted what I have…now do I just sit back and wait for the offers to start rolling in or is it more effective to monitor the needs out there?
