Thanks for the kind suggestion!! Though, the jestrwife and kids would NOT be happy if I went by myself lol My fingers are crossed that these might be available at Downtown Disney … but alas, we won't know until we get MUCH closer to the release date … everyone think positive thoughts!!

Hi TFAD Family!! Today marks 1 week until the start of Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios, Florida! I have been researching the Star Wars Cars and here is what I have had confirmed through Disney Park Merchandise Services after multiple phone contacts.
1) These car will ONLY be available AT THE PARK from May 17th until June 9th.
2) Anything that is NOT sold will be turned over to Disney Park Merchandise Services AFTER June 9th. (psh, yeah right NOT SOLD … what ever)
I spoke to 4 different folks at Park Merchandise Services, and all of them confirmed the same thing. As with anything, it could change, but at the moment this leads me to believe that the only way to get these cars will be to RAID THE PARK during Star Wars weekends.  I was truly hoping these would be available at Downtown Disney, but every person I spoke to said that will NOT happen.
My family went to Star Wars Weekends last year with 1 day passes that were purchased by grandma and grandpa, and it was AWESOME! There were Storm Troopers all over the place, characters in FULL DRESS, signature lines and even JEDI TRAINING!! it was a blast!
Anyhoo, I would LOVE to help folks with these cars, but I still have NO IDEA what the retail cost is on them, and frankly we do not have $400 to spend on the family going to the park.  I might go by myself, but if the kids find out they might disown me!! LOL At the moment, I am in a holding pattern … and it stinks … knowing these cars are SOOOOO close, yet just out of reach! Wish I could use my Jedi Mind Powers to walk through the gates, buy 100 sets and walk away lol Grrrrrrrrr
Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?????

If, and let me emphasize, if, we get a group buy together ahead of time, like what Kevin does for SDCC & D23, you could figure out how many sets you will need and how many takers there are, and split up the cost of admission between all the takers. If we get enough takers, the cost of admission for the whole Jestr Family wouldn't be more than $10/taker, well worth "the cost of admission".

i was texting jeff earlier, he is busy the weekend this starts with family plans.
if anyone wanted i could go the 18th and or 19th i live about 40 mins from the park
if someone wants to start up a group buy i could arrange to pick them up
the problem is again the same as jeffs, no tickets
but im open to any suggestions

If it was me, I would start at $120 a set. Pre-paid. Should be enough to cover a ticket and someone's time in the park and possibly shipping. I would imagine $12.95 a car(s)
There is already pre-paid ebay listings at $100 including shipping.

Morning All! I have been thinking more about this all night … even while I was sleeping!! LOL
I am not interested in making big money on these. I just want to help. I did see the 2 ebay sellers that have these listed as pre-sale items. They basically want $100 plus the cost of shipping. I wonder if they are just rolling the dice or if they actually KNOW the cost of the items? I mean if they are $10 per car, they are making dang goon money … if they end up being $15 a car, I would think they are barely breaking even.
As mentioned by T-Dawg, I could and definitely WOULD accept prepayment for these set before I go, but that leads me to another possible problem …. will the park LIMIT the quantity I can purchase? I also noticed that BOTH ebay listings had a quantity available of 7 and 10. I wonder if they just set that limit because they felt it was all they could carry OR if they know there is a limit. On seller states they have been doing this for years and they are only listing 7 sets.
Then there is the case assortment issues …. will these be shipped like the Pirate Mater in Case Quantity or will they be shipped like Mattel singles … an assortment that is nice like 2 of each … or will there be 4 mcqueen, 4 mater and 1 of each of the others making it super tough to get the kind of sets I will need for the folks that are interested.
I wish this was more like SDCC where you KNOW the Price of the item and there are no case assortment things to be concerned about … at least THOSE issue would be resolved. At this point the only thing that seems to be CONSTANT is WHERE they will be lolol ahhhh my head is going to explode with all of the variables!! LOLOL
I just want to help and do it the best I can! More news as I have it.

HI TFAD Family!! After careful thought and consideration of all the positives and negatives involved in this very unique situation, I have decided that I am going to go to the Star Wars Weekend Event and do the best I can to pick up sets of these super cool cars …. BUT … I am not going to start any sort of buyers list post here. I have a list of folks that I am going to try to help personally FIRST … if I can help all of them and end up with EXTRA sets … I will immediately post them on the TFAD Trade/Sale post to share with as many of you as I can. More details later this week. PLEASE WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I'll see you there 🙂 I plan to be in line at the park at 6 on Friday morning. Any help on where I should head for a store? I plan to get in, get my sets, go back to hotel and then take the family back to the park later. I'm already promised to buy 5 sets for people so I probably couldn't get anymore. I'll try to post pictures at some point. Wish me luck.

Not available yet. Customs did not allow them in. They have not idea when are going to be in the park. I have a pic from the ones in display. Priced 9.95.

Huge let down for the people who purchased tickets just for them! I would be asking for a pre-purchase transaction. Then have then ship them when they arrive. Or, if they could not do that, money back for the tickets.
