I am an avid Cars Collector in Quincy, IL. Not many good findings around here, but I have at least 75% of all the Cars made.

WHEN DID YOU START?

Right away when I saw them at Wal-Mart in late April 2006. They looked really cool so I bought some. I haven't seen the movie yet so I didn't know what to expect. And I sure didn't!

WHAT WAS THE FIRST CAR YOU GOT?

My first cars I bought were Lightning, Sally, and DJ.

HOW LONG BEFORE YOU HAD CAR #2?

The next time I went to Wal-Mart! I bought Mater and Doc.

WHEN DID YOU DECIDE/ REALIZE YOU NEEDED MORE THAN ONE?

I really liked Hot Wheels before these came out, and that's one of the reasons why I bought some. I basically fell in love with their expressions and Paint Jobs and I think it turned into an Addiction!

WHEN DID YOU REALIZE YOU HAD TO GO BIG INTO THIS THING?

Went on a family trip to Springfield, IL. We went to stop at Wal-Mart because my cousin was into Hot Wheels as well. So we stopped by and every Desert Car except Chick was sitting waiting for me on the shelves! I almost cleared them, and my Cousin took a longer time picking through all of the Hot Wheels, only buying 4 or 5. She asked me, "Why do you like those things so much?" and I thought about it and answered, "You know, I have no idea."

So idk how good of a reason that is, but it's what got me hooked!

WHAT WAS THE CRAZIEST THING YOU EVER HEARD ABOUT COLLECTING THESE CARS? (NEVER YOU, SOME OTHER PERSONS CRAZY STORY.)

All of us dorks on here talking about DIECAST CARS!  Just Kidding!

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE CAR?

In 2006, it was a tie between Fillmore and DJ. Now it's a 3 way tie between Fillmore, Cruz Besouro, and Bye Bye Kar.

Bumper Save, after the car that opened my eyes to the world beyond main characters.

I'm a 14-year-old in Suburban Philadelphia, when I saw Cars in 2006 it was for my 9th birthday party in early July. I loved it, and haven't been able to look back ever since. I started off collecting to play, and now I collect to collect. It's odd feeling like both the kid that you're buying for as well as the parent buying for the kid. Almost all of my cars I have bought for myself, that or gifts. It's not like I'm spoiled but I sure am lucky, thankfully.

WHEN DID YOU START?

Summer 2007, my grandma gave me a $50 gift card for TRU. I had nothing to buy with it and wandered into the cars aisle. The rest is history.

WHAT WAS THE FIRST CAR YOU GOT?

A WOC 3-pack: Lightning, Charlie Checker, and King – then I picked up an RPM and Doc to go with it.

HOW LONG BEFORE YOU HAD CAR #2?

Instantly. It was a 3-pack.

WHEN DID YOU DECIDE/REALIZE YOU NEEDED MORE THAN ONE?

When I went to Walmart in the weeks following and saw Chick, Mater, and Sheriff. And so on and so forth, now we are in Cars 2.

WHEN DID YOU REALIZE YOU HAD TO GO BIG INTO THIS THING?

On my 12th birthday I was given the Kmart Day Rubber Tire Bumper Save and Shifty Drug cars by my younger sister. I opened them, and was all like, "Rubber tires? Cars I have never heard of and that have only appeared for a fraction of a second in the movie? What have I been missing?" I just had to get to Kmart, and when I found Tow Cap and Mood Springs as well, it was officially an addiction. So now, when my sister complains about my Carsaholicism, I say it's all her fault.

WHAT WAS THE CRAZIEST THING YOU’VE HEARD ABOUT COLLECTING THESE CARS? (NEVER YOU, SOME OTHER PERSON’S CRAZY STORY).

I hate to take a dig at one of the top posters, and I say this in the nicest way possible, but it's got to be BBIGMIKE's cars warehouse. Mike, you are a Cars maniac and perhaps the BBIGGEST fan of cars ever. You have more Cars then all of some countries.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CAR?

I'd like to say Bumper Save, but I just can't. I love Raoul, and the Pittys, and Lightning and Mater of course, AAH DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!  Actually, it might just be Cut Himself Shaving Grem, my own personal 1/1 error/variant/mistake car. The fact that Cars don't shave just makes him even better.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION?

A ton. Lots of Toons, Haulers, and the likes. I was anti-Toon-and-Hauler for a while and regret it now. And Apple, of course, he is such a nice car. If they were released commonly in stores, I would get one for every room in the house.
