Although not Cars related as most of you already know a colossal megastorm is approaching the East coast of the US.
All signs point to an historic type event. In my life I have never saw a hurricane start to move east this far north and then suddenly turn back west and slam into the coast.
Some of the most densely populated areas of the country are most likely facing some serious problems. We ourselves are less than a mile away from the ocean and New York harbor. It Could get really bad here.
Anyway here's praying all of us east coasters stay safe and don't lose power too long.
After tonight Cars hunting is going to be suspended for awhile in my area. Looks like NYC among other places is going to be closed down until at least Wednesday.
At least I should be able to read Take 5 on my IPhone.

Some predictions are showing Baltimore could take a direct hit. Generator is on standby, hope we don't need it. We're about 300 feet above sea level in Frederick, so downed power lines and localized flooding are the main concerns here.

Gonna get hit hard here in SE PA – my grandparent's shore house in Ocean City NJ is in the area of the expected landfall, it's not gonna be fun. My cousin has been evacuated from Delaware Bay where he lives. It's not gonna be fun.

We got a near miss down here in FLA.  Winds were 25-35 with gusts in the 40's in my county, but most of the rain stayed offshore as it went by.  I have been through quite a few hurricanes … the worst being Hugo in S.C. when I was a teenager … stood in the eye of that storm when it went over the house were were huddled in …. truly amazing how calm it was.  Best of luck to everyone further up the coast, we will keep you in our thoughts.

My family is sending good thoughts and prayers to everyone out in the east… Stay safe! Stay indoors and have a Cars marathon (if you have electricity..)

My sister and her husband are on a cruise and they have been stuck at sea for three days waiting for the storm to pass… but they are safe.

Good luck to all my fellow east coasters…

by the sounds of the reports here, northern and central new england will only get high wind gusts and rain…Hopefully the Capt. Isaac Davis house three doors down will avoid any damage…

At least i got a chance to clear my gutters before the rain hits

Good Luck!

Wow , I am alittle worried about the storm coming but hopefully everything will be okay. I am as ready as I will ever be, I tried to get a generator but the are all sold out . Now I am waiting to see the school closings  for the next few days. I may just keep my son home so I know he will be safe with me. Good Luck to everyone !! Be Safe !!!

We're right there with ya Jack. Of course the storm will be slower and weaker by the time it reaches us here in Western NY, but it may pick up again if it merges with the cold front coming across Lake Erie. Who knows, but at least we're ready for it.

I'm glad all the leaves have dropped in my area.  Last year we got a wicked ice storm that destroyed the trees becasue they all still had their leaves.  Postponned halloween too. Lot's of power outages and blocked roads.

fingers crossed.

School has already been cancelled for Monday and Tuesday and the storm hasn't even started yet. We're gonna get the most here and it's gonna be serious. Stay safe everyone, we are doing our best.

Here in MA everything is closed, work and school. The nearest gas station ran out of regular unleaded and there were cars lined up to fill up their tanks and containers. D batteries were sold out. Very quiet at midnight.

My wife told me to stop and get bottled water on the way home from work last night.  I got 2 of the last 3 12 packs of Deer Park Water, a 12 pack of beer, some Goldfish crackers, and a Transformer.( no new cars at that store)Wink

I'm back at work now, but the wife and kids are home safe.  If the kids drive her crazy, at least she has the beer.Laugh
