Hello everyone,

I am planning on getting the main characters from the upcoming movie Planes. I wanted some advice and opinions from a few collectors.

Are the Disney Store or the Mattel planes a better way to go?  Does anyone know which ones are bigger?  Or look better?

Thanks for any opinions

If you want the smaller planes, go with the Mattel 1:55 scale version. Disney Store cars and planes are typically 1:43 scale and much bigger than the 1:55's. I prefer the Mattel version because they will look better with my Mattel cars, but if you collect DS cars I'd go with DS planes to match.

We've decided to go with Disney Store Planes to go with our Mattel Cars collection. The DS Planes are much larger than Mattel's but are still smaller than 1:55. They vary, but seem to be about 1:75 or so. We expect that the Planes' pitties and cars from Mattel will be a match for the rest of the Cars collection.

Take my advice — use your money to pass up these things and buy two to three times as many Cars!

I'm a Mattel mostly collector (all mattel, some disney)..

I realy like the DS planes…I bought Dusty just to see what he was like.  Love it!  I wish they were in blisters (open them!), but I can manage with the acrylic cases..

jsut my 2 cents

collect them all!

We bought a few DS Planes to check them out. They are quite nice and a good size. Not yet seen Mattel's versions so can't comment on them but they will be smaller.

Buy one of each version to decide for yourself, that's the best way.

Don't let the Mattel fanboys skew your opinion  🙂

Personally, I think the DS looks better and I like the realistic scale of having a plane bigger than a car.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the great advice!  It is nice to have a bunch of different opinions from cars fans.  I really like it when the cars are mostly in scale with each other so I think I am going to try out the Disney Store Planes.  Though I will probably pick up some of the Mattel ones and compare like optom suggested.

Now all I have to go is find someone who can get them for me since I have no Disney stores.

If anyone else has there own opinions feel free to keep them coming 🙂
