Hey Brent, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but unfortunately I have first hand knowledge that there is only one John Lasseter Signature Series in existence and it is the hand painted prototype resin casting, it is not diecast.

Wow, it looks great to me, too!
You could switch out the tires with the rubber tire McQueen from KMart day if you want crisp Lightyear logos.

I would have said it was the real deal if not for Slicepie's post, and now I think it's an amazingly good Backdoor.
That's an amazing car you have there either way, it's definitely one of the nicest Cars diecasts I've ever seen. Congrats!

Trying to give you honest feedback here.
The real JL Signature Series would have had tread on the rubber tires. The chassis was going to be all metal too, so it was going to be heavier than any other Mcqueen. Is the chassis on your car all metal? Your pic looks to be an all metal bottom.
I don't know why the one ebay from Hong Kong link did not show in my earlier post, it worked for me. But it was an Sept listing, so that may explain why. Anyway it seems to be same Car as you have, and did not have the tread on the tires. I can't be sure of the metal bottom from the seller's pics or description, but he was asking 1241.73, don't know if it sold at that price. I have seen a couple of these and all were back door and looked similar but with the clean lightyear writing on the tires.

It getting stranger by the minute, I will go check in regards to the material of the chassis. I am going to take mikes advise and put new tires on it since I have a extra rubber wheel car. Yea I tried the link and couldn't get it on the iPad. I'll try later on the pc. I'll get back soon.

Try this link to a picture of 2 different versions.
French collector had these in 2009, but not any longer as I believe he sold these to someone else. You can click on each picture and get a higher resolution version.

BMW, you the man, just pulled this stuff from mid air? I've looked and looked and couldn't find much, good job. Yes it does appear that the chassis is metal. Which brings me to a question overall about these cars. Do you think the diecast metal is 10% zinc and 90% aluminum? There is very very little magnetic material in a car? Alright, so it appears that there may have been only one true or a handful of these JL cars, which by the way match the 1:24 scale Matty McQueen perfectly. And a unknown count of version A and B. so with that said, I'm in a situation where I may need to sell this or something else. Any recommendations on a asking price? I'm trying to avoid this option, but something's gotta give………

Hi again, no not pulled from mid air. I know this french collection, and the collector. Personally I have been collecting for many years, and have a pretty good collection myself.
Well nice to hear the chassis is metal, so the car is pretty heavy then.
Yes very little or no magnetic material, as zinc or alum is not magnetic. Zinc is like a low grade aluminum. As for the metal content percentage, I don't know.
I have only known this French collector to own both versions. The one on ebay from HK was the version with the heavy eye outline, and another collector in china has that version as well. The other one with the thinner outline and different logo on the back is the only one like it I know of.
Did you notice the differences in the bottom of both?
As for value or selling price, its typically best to let the market decide by putting it up on ebay. But I do know the French collector was asking around one thousand for his last year. Don't know if he got it.
Do you mind my asking how you acquired it? you can send me a pm.
