So I can't figure out how to get McQueen Alive into mode 3. The directions say to press and hold the mode button for 2 seconds then tap the touch sensor while he is mode 2. There is supposed to be a double beep, then he says "Let's Go!". So far, I have not been able to make him do this. Anyone have any tips or tricks for me?

TIA

I get him to go into Mode 3, but not without repeated annoying attempts.  I never hear the 2 beeps, but sometimes he will just start doing mode 3 stuff.  I don't play with him much because of this, so it kind of is a special treat for my kids when I do bring him out.Confused

I can get him into it fairly regularly…

I make sure he is in mode 2, while holding him I hold the bottom button down for about 2-3 seconds, then while still holding the button, tap him on the head to go into mode 3.  (I haven't heard the mode 3 noises at all)

I usually have to do it twice and the 2nd time I do it, he'll go into mode 3.  Sometimes he'll go back into mode 1, so I have to verify that he is in mode 2 before starting the procedure again.

Mode 3, he needs a lot of space, I had to take him outside onto the driveway, which naturally he tracked up dirt and dog hair.  He is currently resting on the shelf staring at Frank.

Several of our local Target stores have the equally expensive Hot Wheels video car on 75% clearance for about $18. Maybe you could rubber band one to the roof of a McQueen Alive and make some videos from McQueen's point-of-view! Wink

Sounds like mine isn't broken, I guess I just need to keep fooling with him. I see why they call it an adult collector item now.

Is he fully charged?  Mine charged and I could only get the first two modes.

(now that I think about it)  Then I charged him overnight and it let me go into the 3rd mode.  When I get home, I'll mess with him and see if I can get a better description for you.

How come Mode 3 is so hard to get into? And when it's Mode 3 does it do really cool stuff?

Mode 3 is awesome.  My kids get bored of it unless I can get it to go into mode 3.  We play with it maybe once a week for about 10 minutes.  If you get it go into Mode 3, make sure you have a lot of room for McQueen to drive because he goes pretty fast.
