We got to Kmart about 20 minutes before the event started.  I hadn't done my homework and checked my local Kmart earlier in the week to see if they were holding the event or not.  Luckily we saw the poster when we came in the door.

We saw that they hadn't set the table up yet, so we checked on some stuff in the toy department.  Nothing new since the last time we were there.  My kids were confused as to why the Halloween stuff was getting taken down and the Christmas stuff was going up already.  We walked back to the front of the store and they had set up the table and put out the master case.

Already off to a better start than June, when I had to remind them that they were having a Cars Collector Event.  As soon as the guy emptied the first case, my daughter grabbed a Mary.

BobbyJack was a little more picky and wanted to look at all the cars before he chose his.

Pretty good day.  We got Mary, Alexander, and one of each of the 4 silver racers we still needed.  As I was taking this picture, an elderly couple came in behind us and took all the cars left except for the McQueens.

Would have been much better if we could have gotten a rubber tire Rip and a silver Rip.  Oh well, maybe next June…

I'm glad you got the cars you wanted, Brittany.  If we hadn't gotten there on time, we wouldn't have gotten Alexander or Mary.  I think Mattel should look at the last two Kmart days and notice the non-race cars have been the most popular.  Imagine how cool a Collector Event would be if we could get 6 brand new Characters instead of more versions of cars we already have.

That's the real reason these events are so special. I always love seeing the happy kids who have new Cars. Thanks for sharing.
