Ok, I am seeking the opinion of the members here at T5.

I have 2 surfin safari trucks loose without the case or box that I bought in January.
I have to sale one or trade to continue my collection. So question for all??

If I sale I would first post here on the forum and ask $1500.00 . Does that seem crazy or do you think it will sale. Has it lost its appeal?
Second Ebay????
Third, I've thought about requesting a trade to a reseller in return for the next 15-17 new release cases. Straight across. Does that seem crazy?

Help with your opinions and comments please.

WOWOW! Surprised Would love to have one and I am sure many other members would to, but I could buy a 1999 Honda Civic for that!! LOLOL Wink I do WISH I had one though!  Best of luck with your sale! Some one will be very happy after you have shared it with them! Smile

Whether it be this site or eBay, take the money and run Brent!

A trade for the next 15-17 cases is way too lopsided in their favor, once you consider their low cost per case and the extended period of time that you'll be waiting to complete the trade.

And are they talking Singles? Deluxe? A case of WHAT exactly?

A better trade for you would be more like the next 25-30 cases, but in either situation, are you going put something in writing and have them sign it? Who knows what THEIR situation will be in 12-18 months…

I would not trade for the next cases of anything. The line is too fragile now, and a long-term commitment like that could go very badly in the end. You don't know for sure what will be in future cases. In the end you would likely end up with three dozen new cars but 200+ repeats.

Take the money and run! Or send it to me Laugh

John, I'm not sure who exactly you've been talking to but I can assure you that the dealer cost for singles cases are nowhere near $50 per case, which is what they would have to be for 30 cases to equal $1500.  Believe me, and I can speak for all dealers when I say that we would love it if our price was that low, but it simply isn't the case.  It isn't even close.

First I wouldn't trade for upcoming cases simply because we don't know what the assortments will be.
Secondly you can ask any price you want on here. Who cares what anyone else thinks. You already stated your asking price is around 1,500.00.
I believe your best bet is probably to do a buy it now or best offer on EBay and see what kind of interest or offers you get. Then you can always lower your price later. In the meantime while you do have it listed you might as well list some of your other extras since the JL truck listing will mean more people will find you and your listings.
If there are still no takers on the buy it now a 10 day auction starting at .99 will guarantee it sells but it's a gamble how much you will get. Sometimes you get more than you though and sometimes less.
Lastly you could offer in a trade for a whole list of valuable cars. There are members with plenty of valuable extras. Someone may be able to put a pretty nice package offer for it. Maybe a member I know will offer you about 15 extra Franks he has laying around. That would be a fair trade for both of you.

I'm interested in this item BUT I as well as others on ebay would want to know if this is a backdoor item you got or the actual authentic JL Surf Truck given to the people who worked on the movie.  If it's backdoor I wouldn't buy it but others may.
