Here is Taia Decotura, the 'Tire Talky Truck,' as was first named. Here is his Bio;
"Taia used to be an ordinary, gray truck in the muffler transport buisness, working the Sawara-to-Tokyo line. But he dreamed of more exciting things than peddling parts, so he moved to Tokyo to get into advertising. Now, painted in a shiny yellow and pruple, with stainless trim and two gigantic TV screens, Taia certainly attracts attention. In fact, he's the most popular truck in town – he can turn any boring party into a drive-in movie with the flip of a switch!"

Here is Karl Haulzemoff! Here's his Bio;
"Karl has one job: to take Victor Hugo wherever he wants to go. A luxury transporter for the rich and the villainous, Karl keeps his privacy glass up and his eyes on the road and he doesn't ask to many questions. Sure, he misses the simpler days of moving legitimate business cars to and from garages, but hauling the main crime boss is just too lucrative for him to even think about getting out now."

This is Muggsy Liftsome! Here's his Bio;
"Being stuck on an oil rig for 90-day shifts, Muggsy has found himself watching a lot of old movies. He absolutely loves film noir and has been known to reenact scenes from his favorite crime thrillers. He lifted the name Muggsy to give himself more deep-sea cred, but who's he kidding. He's a harmless rig worker. When Professor Z comes on deck to address his minions, Muggsy knows it's time to snap back into forklift mode and get lifting."

This is the Galloping Geargrinder! Here's his Bio;
"The Galloping Geargrinder has been riding the rails of Carburetor County since the 1039s. The Geargrinder was light on the tracks and extra efficient at running the mail into little towns like Radiator Springs. But by the 1950s, the delivery work dried up as the semitrucks began using the new straight-line highway that bypassed the old, curving train route. Other Geargrinders ended up at amusement parks and tourist traps, but old GG prefers to continue chugging along his original line – and to keep Mater from trespassing in the tunnels !"

He is the Sumo referee; a Gyōji is a referee in professional sumo wrestling.

I am in complete AWE …. I love the bio/back stories … if this much thought was put into those, you would surely expect them in DIECAST MODE eventually, right?????????????

Here you go…
It's in a rinky dink Disney Store set of cast PVC Cars misnamed "Deluxe Figurine Playset"; it is neither deluxe nor a playset. But right now during the 30% all Cars sale its $13.65.
Acer is a seperate casting from the camera, with your bare hands, working slowly and carefully, tear the PVC Acer away from the camera base.
(before) PVC Acer on camera, die cast Acer on right
(after) PVC Acer off the camera base
bottom of PVC Acer
Mattel Acer fits right onto camera base! I had planned to do a step two of cutting the camera away from the rectangular base, but it fits together so well I'm going to stop here.
Next up, will PVC Holley Shiftwell's rear wing fit on die cast 'Holley Shiftwell with wings'?

Yes we went a bit nuts at the Disney store, that's what 30% off will do. And at checkout they threw in another 10% which covered our sales tax.
We bought the PVC playset (see above), the die cast crabby boat, the Queen set, two Ape die casts and the Tokyo Toilet playset.
The Tokyo Toilet Playset (TTP) is the worst Cars related junk I think we have ever purchased. As you look through these photos notice all the peeling stickers, we havn't even had the set home for 24 hours yet!
Here's the toilet with a die cast Mater. Notice that Mater only goes in about half way since there's a large 'key' sticking out of the wall.
Here's the included plastic Mater showing his key slot in the rear and also his accessory key. The Mater and Grem (both really poor models by-the-way) have springs inside which makes them self launchers. Sticking the key in lets you shoot the car, or to be charitable, "launch" the car. My boys immediately began shooting the two cars at each other using the handheld keys and as a result the cars have been taken away. (I think we will trash them.) Another key in the toilet fits into the same rear slot in either Grem or Mater and blinks a red LED in the rear panel while saying a single line of dialogue (for each character) out loud. The recesses in the keys tell the toilet which character is parked.
Of course in the movie one drives forward into the toilet, not backwards.
I managed to get a shot of the toilet with the red LED lit up. Its on for a nanosecond. To make the toilet into a fun die cast setting, we'll need to find a way to remove the key and hot wire a switch. It is held together with small phillips screws so I do plan to open it up and see what's possible. I'll post the results.
Also in the set are these Sumos. They are a very small scale, when the plastic button is pushed in the middle of the black track, the Sumos leap towards each other. (lower half of the photo) I havn't figured out what if anything to do with this piece. I doubt the stickers will last another week.

jestrjef,
I just checked the Disney Store site and the 30% off is still on there so it's probably still on at the retail store too.
