If they are both around the same size, I would actually buy them. They seem totally different from one another and since there were 2 main attack boats in the movie it would be awesome to have them.

I saw the battleship today at the DS & it looked really nice but I really do not care for the quality of the DS cars. But hey for $26.00 its definately worth it ! I already bought the mattel version that I really like too with a few action agents cars for christmas !

I saw the Disney Store Combat Ship today. It's huge. Much larger than the Mattel ship. Not in scale with the Oil Rig. That said, if you have the room, it looks pretty cool

Speaking of the action agents: they don't seem to be moving at all at my stores. I don't think the line is going well so far. I wonder what others think?

Thanks the pics! My DS sold out of the ship the same day it came in, and won't have any more till maybe Monday. I like my Action Agents one, but would be interested for sure. Can't wait to see it!

I like the combat ship and will have to find it.
The action agents look cheapy and not cute like the minis and I love the minis.

The ship is available on disneystore.com.
I ordered one over the weekend with the 20% off coupon since the DS near me didn't have anymore. Then piled in a bunch of unnecessary Cars stuff to get up to $75 for the free shipping. We'll see what ends up going back to the store.

Here are comparison shots of both versions together…also alongside the oil rig. There are Mattel Grems on both in the top photo, and FYI the Grem barely fits on the Disney one. Also ironically, the Mattel one has more deck space.
Watch out for bent masts if you buy in-store it's attached to the back of the box and you can see through the end if it's bent or not.

Tony's just too big for almost anywhere…so what to do?
Last night I found an old shelf I wasn't using, and it fit him perfectly. That's a Phidal Grem from the Cool Cars book/figure set to add some color (Acer belongs on that side but was too pale).
My Dad has old tall ships on shelves…why not a plastic battleship with scary eyes and cool teeth??

That Grem was way out of scale…they belong up in the gun turrets, though there's no room alongside the guns, only in front of them…
Squinkies + rubber glove + scissors + primer & paint =

Yeah…I never thought I would! Had to buy two whole sets to get Acer and Grem, so now I have two dozen of the little gelatinous things.

Were Grem and Acer visible in the package or hidden opaque spheres?
(I was looking for them today but saw no villains.)

Unfortunately, the best ones…Rod, Lizzie, Grem, Acer…are all hidden, so you couldn't see the paint job. I had to return one set and get a replacement because the Acer was so messed up. It makes no sense, as they're not random "surprise" cars…they have the same ones in all the sets. Series 1 has one of them, and Series 2 has the other. Not sure which is which…I can check.
