I'm sure someone out there opted for the $70 next day delivery option, or whatever it was.

Got ours today!!
The Die Cast that comes with it is very nice looking and feels very heavy.
The poster is very nice, but I imagined it a bit bigger.
LOVE the book! You can tell a TON of work went into this. SO worth the money! 🙂
Glad to finally have something so complete!

Mine has apparently been languishing in Martinsburg, WV since the 11th. It is supposed to arrive at my house tomorrow…
Will be fun to look at it with the boys.

Got mine today, and was surprised how small the dimensions are: about 7 1/2 inches wide by 9 1/2 high. I thought this was going to be an encyclopedia-sized encyclopedia!

And it isn't comprehensive. There seem to be a lot of prototype photos in the book also. Colors don't match the cars we own, like Padre who is purple in the book, gray in production.
But it is nice to see photos of yet to be released Cars. We had no idea that "Union Jack" Ramone would actually be "paint gun Ramone"

I agree, it is really nice to see new photos of upcoming cars, like Paint Gun Ramone and Tubbs Pacer. The new diecast McQueen is a really nice blend of Cars 1 and Cars 2 deco as well. My son says its "really cool." I do wish more time was spent proofreading the encyclodpedia. There are a few misplaced words, as well as some comical, and unintended misinformation, such as stating that Mama Bernoulli and Rip Clutchegonski "were released," and that the Octane Gain chief & pitty set enjoyed "multiple releases" when "no release" or "virtually no release" would be more accurate. Pretty nice book though, kind of a "mainstream" take on the excellent TakeFiveADay magazines. I think it's exactly the same size as the Lego Character Encyclopedia. The poster is kind of junky, especially the "Exclusive McQueen" side with an enlarged low-resolution profile of the diecast, but fun for a kid. I'm glad we got one. I'll buy a second of the diecast back-door to save money.

I guess looking back from the future to 2012, Mama and Rip will have already been released. And with the Octain Gain crew, maybe they mean packaging variants – there was a Piston Cup theme and the Blue Night Skyline theme.
One more thought — not only is the book smaller than I expected, but the "95" decal on Lightning's roof is tiny. Nothing like any previous releases of McQueen.

Here in Massachusetts we had a ton of the Octane Gain Chief & Pitty sets at Target. I purchased about 40 sets when they were at 90% off. I believe $1.23. Used several for customs. I wonder how distribution can be so screwy.

Just picked up two copies here in the Toronto area, at Costco, for 11.99 each, which is half of the listed Canadian price of 23.99.
Within 5 minutes of skimming i noticed an error also, that Luigi with paint can is a Chase that was releaesed only in Australia and Europe…………..so who knows what an in depth reading will reveal.
