Found Bath Blastin Finn at both Target and Walmart; $25 and $20 respectively. According to my boys the toy is fun, I think it is way over priced for what it does. (squirts water and spins its propellers)
A note for collectors, these pictures are of two pacakge styles from the same Walmart store, with and without a diecut hole for a try it yourself option. (graphics are rearranged for each version)
This is kind of cool, especially with the breathing apparatus, and I was thinking of getting it at some point for my nephew. But the sticker eyes (which I was surprised to see on a water toy, even from Mattel) have held me back…has anyone's kids played with it enough in the tub to know if they start disintegrating? Thanks!
It's been in the tub nightly for a month now and nothing has broken or peeled. Actually rather durable for something made by Mattel. We also have the Mater and Lightning bubble bath bottles which are about the same scale; three Cars I think make it a lot more fun than one alone might have been. Ironic that the Finn costs $22 and is no more or less fun than the bubble bath bottles which cost about $3 including a load of foul smelling bubble bath.
That long-box set of rolling-wheels Mater and LMQ soap bottles (with bath mitt) was really nicely done, and all painted including eyes, for just $15 at Walmart. Not sure if that's what you mean, but they were a much better value than the Finn, which at over $20 I'll wait for a sale to buy. (It's one of the few newer toys I've seen everywhere.)
All three together wouldn't leave much room in the tub for my nephew! They're pretty big when you realize bath toys are best enjoyed simultaneously.
The long box set was a sort of repackaging. It contained the same Lightning and Mater but in the set they were blackened for some reason. (as 'tho they were covered with road dirt) I think you can still get these for about $3 each in the kids' bubble bath section of Walmart.
