Visited two more Targets this past week (Lowell MA and Woburn MA).
Just wondering if the Summer Reset 2012 can now officially be called "Let's waste time and money moving the Race Team Maters and Finns to new pegs and see if they sell even though they have been sitting here not selling for over a year". It looks like at least Woburn put some other singles on the peg -unfortunately they all look like they came from the initial case-Nigel, Jeff Gorvette, etc.
I had always thought Target was run better.

sloths14 it's not Target's fault. They, along with Walmart, Kmart, etc trust Mattel to pack them fair cases like they've been doing the past 5 years. Because they're overloading the main 3, when a case put out, this is what happens:
1. Everyone buys the new contents along with some rarer cars, such as Professor Z, Jeff Gorvette, Race Team Sarge, etc.
2. Since everyone already has Finn and Lightning, they don't buy them, leaving them to rot on the pegs.
3. Due to this happening, stores don't order any cases. That's why barely anyone has found Don Crumlin, Officer Murakarmi, Becky Wheelin, Bindo and Prince Wheeliam (though Bindo and Wheeliam are still shipping)
So let me ask you, has anyone found Flash or Long Ge yet?

Well someone at Target somewhere has to share some blame. By now Target corporate should be demanding Mattel reps visit the stores and remove much of wasn't isn't selling. My closest Target has been packed with junk and unwanted repeats for going on a year and a half. It's disgusting to see so many race team Maters etc. on the pegs, with no room for in the pegs for anything new.
Target and Mattel have to do something. I can't ever see them selling off the stock they have. They would have to sell them dirt cheap for a few weeks straight or remove them to go forward.

I visit 3 or 4 targets regularly and it's the same story everywhere…
I did see the reset and the micro drifters and the plastic case (rip off) and the take flights, but all the mainline oldies are still front and center…Deluxe finns, the usual singles and two packs…
It's been so dry that i started revisting dollar stores, cvs', walgreens, job lots, tjmaxx with the hope of finding something really old or something really new…
as for Flash and Long Ge, I sucked it up in the worst way…oh well…I have an extra bessie I'll sell or trade to get the next two ultimate chases 🙂

They had the new multi-pack with Hydro RS Ramone, but I left it.
Other than that all their singles were FMM and one Mater.

Nothing good going on at Targets in the Big Apple as well. Amazing how for a few years straight Target was a must stop for Cars hunting and nowadays it's a shouldn't even bother stop. They really need to turn it around. This will be the 2nd straight Christmas season of nothing Cars for Target if they don't do anything about the peg cloggers.

BobbyJack — If you were up that way, did you hit the Salisbury ToysRUs. They has Carlo, Miles, Shu, and some other harder ones to find. I know they are not new, but better than a wall full of Finn, Mater, Raoul, Jeff, and McQueen

Wow, Target is finally getting in more singles. Today I found Shu, Profesor Z, Miles, Lewis & Miguel which the 5 have been no where to be seen as of late march/april. The best thing about x-mas coming soon is the stores are finally waking up.

Visited the Somerville MA Target today. No change. Great to have some discussion. Even though I didn't get into the game until about 2007 when my son first watched Cars-it was rare more than two weeks went by without something new on the pegs. Target was the best-Tuesday was a must stop.
I really feel Mattel is abusing the customers. How bad could it be to package two new cars together in a two pack. Over the past year-if you exclude KMart Cars Day and the release of the Autonauts (of which two are practically duplicates) my only good finds have been at CVS or Walgreens. Sad.
I don't understand how a store can keep an item on the shelf for over a year without deeply discounting it and moving it along.

Had probably my best Target score ever last night.
Got a Tokyo Victory 7 pack with unspun Francesco, Bruno Motoreau 4 pack for $6 and the new NASCA Truck and Falcon Hawk!
Persistence pays again, that was my 7th and last stop of the day.
