I found Heavy Metal Mater and Rocket Mater (with buck tooth Mia and Tia) 4 packs at 2 Marshall's stores today for $12.99 each… they also had the Stephenson the Spytrain ($21.97 Walmart exclusive) for $14.99.

I found the same Toons packs at my Marshall's, Cac. They were case-fresh, must have been sitting in a warehouse somewhere…

My T J Maxx has the toons 3 packs of Monster Truck Mater (frightening mcmean, tormentor, dr. feelbad) and (frightening mcmean, beanie hat mater, I screamer) for 14.99 each. I bought 2 last week, stopped by this morning, and they still had quite a few. Let me know if anybody needs them, and I will pick them up for you.

Found John Lassetire and Jeff Gorvette 2 pack today at K-Mart. The Cases seem to be split in 2 or something, because there were 5 John and Jeff and 3 McQueen and Fillmore, but no Carla or Giuseppe and Francesco.
Also, that Race Fan Display Case that can hold 40 Cars was on sale for $32.49 there too. Anyone know the original price? All the McQueen Alives were gone too.

Surely they are in the stockroom. Why would someone buy all 3 Motorosis but no Lassetires? Hope it works out for ya.

I have found them at two different Kmarts with a ratio of 4 Jeff/Johns for every 1 Francesco/Giuseppe. I'm thinking that Mattel believes a big yellow pickup truck will appeal to kids more than a little pink car. They don't really factor the collectors like us into the case assortment equation.

I asked an employee about it that day and he went to check the stock room. He said there were no more and another truck was going to come today. He didn't know if Cars were going to be in it or not. So I'll check back maybe tomorrow or Friday.
Personally, I'm OK without getting him because there seems to be a lot of talk about Crew Chiefs becoming Singles, like Bruno Motoreau, so I bet sometime in 2012 he will make his way out as a Single. But until then, I will keep looking.

Today I found the Pope/Popemobile case.
What stuns me; there are six Cars in the box, two Popes, two Popemobiles and two submarine Finn McMissiles.
Pinion Tanaka would make sense for the third Car, even Kingpin Nobunaga, but who does Mattel think is going to buy any more submarine Finns?

Mattel doesn't think anyone will buy them because Mattel doesn't think, it's as simple as that. They cater to HW collectors and neglect Cars.

There must be at least one individual among the thousands employed by Mattel at the El Segundo headquarters who makes production decisions for this line. You would think that he/she would walk into any Los Angeles area retailer, see pegs full of unsold submarine Finn McMissiles (a toy 'car' without wheels and missing its rebreather device), a toy my kids don't play with and realize that its time to stop making them. Or his/her boss would? Or the toy buyer for Target/TRU/Kmart…

I walked into an old CVS today and found a Race o Rama Frank #13. I almost fainted. The card is in excellent shape too. The CVS also had some old launchers, semi's, and some 3 packs. The 3 packs were $20.99 there.
Too rich for my blood. I'm finding that the old CVS stores still have some good stock in them if you are willing to hunt the CVS stores down.

K-Mart: Scored Giuseppe Motorosi 2 pack today. Now I won't need to check K-Mart as often as I was before. I also saw a mom get her boy a Finn McMissile. Who still needs a Finn McMissile?? 
Bergners: Scored nothing, but saw a Pope Pinion but no Pope Mobile for $10. Also saw my first Lewis Hamilton single. I highly recommend people checking out their Bergners once in a while. There may be something you might need, if you want to pay a lot.

Saw Cars Singles at JC Penny's yesterday for $11.99. Yes you heard me right. SINGLES. Not Deluxe, SINGLES. And all that were there were Finns, Maters, Lightnings, and Francescos. About 10 of each. Yikes!
