I found a guy in my area who is selling off a TON of his unopened Cars. He and I have been emailing back and forth and I went through his forty or so pictures. I picked a bunch that I am interested in. I am waiting back to hear the prices that he is asking. He said that they ranged from 5-90 depending on the item. So I thought I would check with my expert friends here on T5AD and see what you all thought were fair prices on these. Any input would be appreciated on one or all! Thanks guys!!

I think it would be a lot easier on us ( ) if you would first say the prices he gives you and then we go off on that, unless he wants our prices to go off of.

I'd also check the "completed" sales of each item on eBay to see if and what they actually recently sold for, just to get an idea of the value. Also check Amazon and Toy Peddler to see if any are currently available for close to retail prices.

Tokyo Mater with stains is probably worth more than $20 or $30. I'd say $50 would still be a fair price. It's extremely rare.

Some of them sound pretty reasonable but Santa Car pack for $120 and GTO for $9 are total ripoffs. I agree, I would at least expect him to maybe give you a "friend price." He's trying to sell them personally to you like he was listing them on Ebay.

Ya, I agree some are reasonable… and like you said they are pretty much Ebay prices. And that is fine, I understand that some of these are very valuable and rare cars, and I am sure that this guy spent a lot of time and money collecting them! I wouldn't want to give them away cheap either. I was just crossing my fingers for a score! I am thinking about a few of them though…. hmmm

Ask if the guy will take the price for the Santa Car 3 pack from $40 to $30. Pass on the Santa 5 pack unless he goes a bit below $100. With those prices, I would buy:
Impound DJ and Boost for $12.50 each (see if he can drop the price to $10)
Dr. Mater (see if you can get it for $10)
Nurse GTO on Toywiz is $7.99, so $9 is definitely a rip-off price. I would take it if he sells it for $5 though.
See if you can get Komodo and Cho for $12.
Definitely get Damaged Mood Springs for $60, if you can get it for $55 or even $50, I'd call it a score (just as long as it's carded, if it's not carded, ask for no more than $45)
Leave Tabinu alone if you can't get him for less than $12.50, but buy Bye Bye Kar, only if he drops it to $18 or $20.
Consider buying Captain Munier and Daredevil LMQ. Ask for $10 though.
So basically if you are going to buy anything I would buy Impound DJ and Boost, Dr. Mater, Dr Abschlepp, Daredevil McQueen, Captain Munier, MAYBE Corporal Kim, Damaged Mood (unless $50-$60 is over your budget), the Santa Car 3 pk but only if you can get it for $30, Komodo and Cho (but only if you can get those 2 for $10 or $12 each)
And remember to ask if he can drop some prices a bit, I bet he would be happy to!

Sounds like he is asking eBay prices, which is high, if no time to list, listing fees, packing materials, time to pack and take to post office and selling commissions are figured in. OTOH, if you can get about 20% or a little less off those prices and pay cash and do a quick deal, that would be fair, I think.

Yep, with those prices none of the cars are really a great deal- some are actually a ripoff, especially the Santa set and most of the easier-to-find Toons.
