I've been less than impressed with the Marvel Cars Comics.  The Boom ones were way better.  Anyone?  The covers were better, the art was better…is Alan G doing anything for the comics anymore?

I subscribed, online, to the Cars 2 comics, but we haven't received anything yet – it's been quite a while now actually. Where are you finding new comics?  Love the Boom comics; my 5 year old was very excited when they showed up in our mailbox.  By the way, Boom comics ships their orders out very efficiently and pack them nicely in a sturdy mailer AND each comic comes with a free protector sleeve – very cool.

Are they still making the Boom comics? I have the Marvel ones and a few Boom ones but I've been trying to get my hands on the rest. Where have you found those. Are those the ones that you get by mail?

So far I have picked up the Rally Race one at Target and the Cars1 and Cars2 Movie Adaptions at TRU.  They are my son's introduction into the world of comic books.  So far, he really likes them.

I have an extra Cars Rally Race Comic if that's what you're looking for.

It appears that Boom changed their name to Kaboom, and now the website is here: http://www.kaboom-studios.com

All of their Cars mini series and trade paper backs (compiling each series) appear to be out of stock, but you can see all of the different covers that you are missing.  I've seen the trade paper backs at mom-n-pop comic book stores recently, so you might check at one of those, if not online.

To answer your question, we had ordered the Boom comics and received them by mail back when they were still stocking them.  I bought the Cars 2 "Collector's Edition" comic book/magazine from an Osco Drug this spring, and then used the enclosed advertisement to sign up for the new Marvel ones, but haven't received anything in the mail yet.

I order about 4 each time…4 seemed to be the most efficient way to order them shipping wise…I have all of them, even the LEs and 2 custom covers from comic con by alan G

Boom has stopped publishing them as once Disney bought marvel, they moved everything "current" to marvel. No monthly CARS title is scheduled as of yet, there was a novelization of film and a couple mag like issues but strangely NOT the official magazine … which is different.

I have the SDCC Holofoil…Is that the 1C?…

I checked my list, and it appears a 2C was released and that is missing…but…I think that was the same cover as the SDCC HC book that I got signed…it's red and white with a pixar version of LM, not a hand drawn version..

Let me attempt to paste my spreadsheet here…if not, I can email to you..

The Rookie #1 Foil Cover is an Emerald City Comic Con Exclusive (even though we got ours at SDCC).  #1C is the one that looks like the hardcover.

I didn't know about #2C until you mentioned it so we need that one too.  We have The Rookie #1 2nd Print as well as the #1 Free Comic Book Day edition.

Do you have The Rookie #3C cover with The King?  That is a HeroesCon Exclusive, limited to 500.

For the regular series (3rd Series, the one after Radiator Springs), there are #0 editions.  Do you have those?  If not we some how ended up with extras of #0A and #0B so we could make a trade if you need them.  Also, do you have #7 SDCC Cover?

I'll post a checklist of all known issues from all series before the Mater Series.  We didn't collect those because Alan Porter wasn't writing them.

I don't have the free comic book day edition…

My Rookie#3 is the gray silver with strip weathers (The King)  Yes..LE to 500 copies

What is on the cover of the 0a and 0b for the R. Springs?

Do you have the motorama girls C cover? I onyl have one.

As for the SDCC 7…yes..I have to custom Allen drawings …one for me and one for my son…

Initially, I missed out on the chance…but…

I posted on the Boom board to find out where I could get them or if they would sell them.  Someone from Boom posted back "try eBay".

Allen read that post and wasn't happy, so he contacted me and offered me 2 custom covers, free of charge.  Pretty sweet.

I stopped ordering from Boom after that.

I like the covers for the mater series..I'll be honest, haven't read a single one though…I've never collected comic books before..

You can get the Free Comic Book Day edition on eBay for like $5-6 with shipping if you're patient.  I created topics for The Rookie and Radiator Springs complete with checklists and cover photos.  I'll do the ongoing series next but I need a little break first, that's a big one!

Thanks for posting the cover pics, Slice!  While viewing them, it finally dawned on me that we were missing issue #0 of the "Ongoing" series.  Was able to quickly and cheaply take care of it via ebay.

Most of the covers are shown in our EXPanded Universe checklist magazine – you can look at a preview of it at magcloud. (see our front page for link).
