Disney Store Cars 1 Singles in Acrylic Cases Full Set?

I was wondering, has anyone collected a full set of the Disney Store Cars 1 Singles in Acrylic Cases?

My current checklist count is 24 unique characters and one double character with a different paint job, Ramone, for a total count of 25. Does anyone know if this is the actual count or have I missed some?

I may have found another one not accounted for. I will have to verify him once I get him in hand. He may just be a very well done custom.

If he is a real, I suspect Kevin Shiftright, Slider Petrolski and Dirkson D'Agostino also exist.

Does anyone have any insight?

I am thinking the same thing, but check out the back image:

I do not see a model number, but the UPC code on the bottom seems to be legit too: NB10 - 461722592905 - 61

I really want to believe he is a custom because if he is, then I feel confident that my list is complete at 25, but if he is not, then more might be out there which makes completing my collection an almost impossible feat.

What do you think?

Unixed, got your PM and after having a good

long look at it, sorry to say that this is fake Frown

You can tell becuase on the other models, under

their nameplate it says in small prints, Disney/Pixar,

while Lee does not.

PS can anyone tell me why the text is running

off the page?

Ya did what in yer cup?

THAT IS GREAT NEWS!

I will post clearer pictures once I get the item in hand.

I suspected it was a fake, but purchased it just in case it was not.

Thank you for responding so quickly.

Yes, I really do want it to be fake.

If it is real, that would mean other racers would have probably been released, making the Cars 1 series count to 30 and not my current count of 25. I just collected all known 25 and want the hunt to be over. It has consumed way too much time and money.

But what I do not want is to think I have a full set, when in reality I do not.

Since not much information exists on this series, creating a full checklist was a daunting task in itself (which still might not be over). I had TJ Hummer missing for a long, long time.

Bottom line, I just want a 100% complete set.

During my quest to determine if Lee is a fake or not, Metroxing told me that I was missing one inside my checklist. It is an unmarked Chase edition too! Metallic Red.

He even posted that this version was coming (note the picture is of the regular Red).

On this post, Metroxing asked "Is this the shiny metallic CHASE-like version?"

With that said, I am shocked he was not identified earlier.

Total count for the Disney Store released Cars 1 in the acrylic collector's case: 26

If anyone has more information on these, I would greatly appreciate a pass down. Starting to collect a 2010 released series in mid 2012 with zero experience with collecting anything, let alone diecast feels like I am doomed at the start.

I bought that Chase Red a few years ago.

Don't remember if it came in a box or on a card.

I bought it because it is a better scale for display than the Mattel Red.

I love your displays! You are tempting me to make a purchase of those new play sets at the Disney Store!

Lee Revkins just arrived.
I need your help to determine if this is a VERY good custom, or if he was an actual release.

As you can tell, he is off centered. This is not the norm for this series. You can also tell that the base sticker is uniquely done as well, tire tracks.

Areas of concern are the screw type, silver, not black. The date code is not the same for a non tabbed case. Also, the "Disney/pixar Made in China" are stamped on with ink, not made into the plastic mold like every single Disney Store release in the single collector's case. Also, HUGE point, "pixar" is not capitalized. Pixar is a proper name, it should be capitalized and is on every single other release.

The price tag looks spot on. The UPC does not display anything inside the DisneyStore.com's web site. This is an absolute must for this series since none of them were sold online.
The postcard is professionally printed as well as the front name sticker. The older pictures looked as if the name did not have the copyright printed on the name, but his was due to a poor picture. It is clearly visible and has the proper casing (Disney/Pixar)

Tom,

You can now. I always have to post, then edit the topic to post more than one link or picture.

Sorry for the delay. I needed a lot more time linking the images than anticipated.

They should be visible now.

I also just noticed on the back postcard it says "Disney / Pixer". This is completely incorrect.

I also noticed that on the back of the postcard the font is a lot larger than the other ones in the series. It also does not have a model number like every other one in the series.

Another anomaly I see, the "Disney / Pixar" printed on the base sticker is on the wrong side. This "Disney / Pixar" is always towards the left side of the case when looking at it directly.

Also, when the lid comes with the tabs, the stars on the Disney Store sticker and logo on the back card are larger and only located on the bottom left corner. When the lid comes without tabs, the stars are smaller and located at the top right and bottom left.

This case has no tabs but it has the Disney Store sticker with the larger stars on the lower left only.

This really does not look like a custom, but more like a counterfeit piece. Is this series so popular that counterfeits exist?

I still say it's custom because they wouldn't have released one out of five racers.

Tav75 states that he has purchased more of the racers in the cases. He has no proof since he removed them from the case. You can read his post here: Follow Link

I think it is not real since their are too many anomalies compared to the rest. It just would have taken a lot of money to have the postcard and stickers offset printed like they are.

Just a suggestion here but you may have an authentic car inside a custom case.  I have this car on the carded version.

Thousands of Cars available for trade or sale.  Always looking for older and harder to find Cars.  Email me at slicepie@roadrunner.com
