Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: TakeFiveReader Roundup Pics & News
In CARS 2, if there’s a Space Shuttle, they can already do a two pack with a Pitty 🙂
Thanks for the pic Sander P.
And going nearly as fast is MCL Sydney-Harris’ son …
And Jason T. seems to have a confetti-less Lightning McQueen with a production date code from 2008! Interesting.
Speaking of variants … Brown Fury-Nolan says, “In my observance of the license plates on the toys I’ve noticed that Snot Rod has a variation. Â Earlier versions of him have a white plate with red lettering. Â Later versions have black plates with white lettering. Â I first noticed the black plates on Impound Snot Rod. Â Â Spotted 2 Check Lane short carded Snot Rod this week, one with a white plate and one with the black plate. Â Might be interesting to track production dates and figure out when the transition occurred.”
Personally, I have 2006 Snot Rod and 2009 Impound Snot Rod (versions on right & left) so who has a black license plate regular Snot Rod & it’s from?
And be sure and check out the updated spreadsheet for diecast CARS – all designed and developed by Christiano Bastos – thanks Chris!
It’s uploaded to EDITGRID HERE.
And Sam Nickelson says Don’t Despair if you can’t find Elvis RV, all you need are some Legos …
Nice! Great job on the eyes and expression!
And of course, thank you very much 🙂
And now, for some really rare … sure, we have a lot of rusted old 1:1 scale Mater’s out there but Chris “Podso” has found the rare 1:1 scale Mater variant – Real Life Brand New Mater 🙂
So if you’re in Hot Springs, South Dakota and in need of a tow, some body work or glass, be sure and tell ’em that Podso sent you 🙂
Giant side mirrors!
Keep the photos coming and yea, sometimes when there’s a crazy week, things get pushed back but I have your photos in the queue and you’ll eventually see them up – thanks all for the great photos!

Thanks for sharing the pics guys, nad thanks for all the hark work on the Edit Grid Chris!!!
Love the Elvis Legomobile, Sam!
OMG! I grew up in Hot Springs SD! I still visit often and see that very same tow truck and shop. My wife and I always laugh when we see it and think of Mater, plus my 4 year old son is always excited to see it. Can someone tell me who took those pics? Email me at forsaken_soldier777@yahoo.com
Thanks!
Hey Brent! Nice to see ya post again! Think you’ll make it to the Kmart event next week?
Eagle River !
Hey Podso –
are you from South Dakota or were you just in Hot Springs vacationing? I guess I’m going to have to load up the family and head that way to find the real Mater!!
Nope, from MN. Was out there working last year. Just back from the in laws near Marshall, MN near Sioux Falls. I’ll be back in Hot Springs in July so curious to see if the real Mater is still there!
SWEET Im on there!
Met, did Sam Nickelson score extra points for displaying TFAD on his PC for the Elvis shots?
(MET: I’m all about the product placement 🙂 ).
ok so Elvis lego looks pretty cool but please tell me this guy didn’t rip those stickers off a perfectly good Elvis diecast to make that thing.
I didnt i took sum pics online of elvis and cut out the eyes grill and stuff
Hey MET, is there an Edit Grid list for openers? I wish I had a straight shot list of each car and variant (red rims/yellow rims mario etc.) ignoring the packaging…since all my packaging gets recycled…
(MET: We might need to update it but check the recap page?)
If I only had some cool picks to post!
