Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Piston Cup Racer & Crew Checklist
Now that the Kmart CARS are definitely here and there have been some minor changes here and there, here’s the updated Piston Cup checklist.
Two of the still-not re-released racers are in gray because officially they are only available in a trade or secondary market purchasing from Europe (Gask-Its & Faux Wheel Drive).
We do not have a confirmation on the Autumn 2009 Kmart CARS Day (Kmart CARS Day III), we will hold off listing until then.
I did not create a column for the lenticulars yet since it’s all re-releases of 2006 CARS (that are racers) scheduled first but will eventually update.
The graphic will look very tiny here as the page can only expand out so far but if you click on the image, drag the image off or right-click and SAVE AS, it will fit on a regular page (landscape view) and actually be readable.

Do we know if all the pitty’s will be released as singles or are some only going to be released in a 3-pak (ie: shiny wax)?

Hey I just noticed this now… according to this grid there was a WOC Movie Moment with RPM #64? Did I miss that? What was the other CAR in that MM?

Speaking of racers, I saw one of the worst swap-outs at Walmart on Wed.
Someone had removed Tank Coat from his Launcher, and replaced him with:
Tank Coat Pitty!
And to top it off, it was resealed with packaging tape.
OUCH!! I wonder how the PITY felt??

I think I can top that one. Last weekend in a Target I saw a mini pack with minis removed and replaced with washing machine LMQ. What is washing machine LMQ you ask. That would be the cheap plastic one that came with the tractor tipping set, and it was left in little johnny’s pocket when mommy did the wash. The thing looked horrible, it of course didn’t even come close to fitting in the package. I will say the retape of the of the bulging bubble was spectacular!!
not sure if this is a dumb question, but will the cars on Kmart Day II June 20th have the rubber tires, or is that a different release date?
also, does anyone have any strategy tips for me on June 20th in case i’m first to open the box???
i’ll also take tips on how to stop my son from opening all of these new vehicles before i get them to the register 🙂

Mood Springs is already available as a launcher, so I would move him to the bottom of John’s list.

This was announced here a while back at the same time as the initial K-Mart Day 2 contents. While Day 2 contents were spot on, the above info can change because of the time between the announcement and the event.
Only Rev ‘N Go is “new” on that list. The other cars are already available outside of the MSOS set, in one form or another (and when I say available, I mean “released”).
Say, Met, do you have a legend or a key for the highway and yield signs? That spreadsheet is worth gold, but I keep forgetting what exactly the markers mean. Thanks.
(MET: The only real difference is the the highway signs on the right are for the racer team, not technically the same as the Piston Cup racer but still important. The two yield signs just means they are re-released but not in the U.S. though available on ebay and other secondary markets).

I am reading between the lines here, but RyanG told us that this line wood take us into Cars II. There are 40 releases names on Final Lap packaging, and this does not complete the chiefs and Pitties. The other day acuransx said that the issue for Mattel was where wood we put ALL the haulers, that his 6 car garage wood not hold them all…does anyone else have the dread feeling I am getting??
Maybe CarsII line will finish us off, but why , when they will have a clean slate to work from…and how, if those racers, haulers and pitties are not even in the movie…uh oh

hmmm… where is Dev at.. maybe he can wrangle up a case of Kmart exclusive haulers with rubber tires to go along with the next Kmart Collectors Day.. its got to have a Vinyl Toupee hauler in it though…
Actually, mixing releases from Cars & Cars II together is pretty smart marketing. It creates a seamless transition from one film to another as well as finalizing one while building hype for the next at the same time.
