UGH. I am starting not to like this Kmart day thing. Same as last year getting bad info from employees. Store that had last year says no. Store that didnt said yes and another said 10 am.

We stopped into the one we visited last year on Saturday . . . it is on the list . . .but 3 weeks ago they were told they are CLOSING!! No Kmart Cars day for them. Time to go to our other options!!
Bottom line, check it out before this Saturday to avoid a problem! 🙂

I just called the 2 sears near me and they do not even have toy sections! Are we sure this was a Sears? Maybe a Sears Essentials?? Either way somebody is gonna be in trouble!!
It was Sears, don;t know about Essentials or not, and she is in Texas.

Last year our local K-mart handed out numbers, then let you pick 1 car when you number was called. Luckily only 12 people were there so between me, mom, dad, my 4 year old and my 2 year old we got 11 total cars (2 of each new racer).
Did anyone have a similar experience?
The one we went to played by the rules, mind I really tried to make sure they did!! I was reminding them of certain protocols as we went along…5 cars per pick, new case each time, etc, etc… Good Luck!
San Diego County has very few KMarts and they are all in the outlying areas. All the “city” KMarts got turned in to Sears Essentials and they do not participate. I’ll go to the same store as last year. Kinda crowded, but I think everyone got at least one set (other than Edwin) and the families and collectors were able to keep the ebayers in check (minding their manners). Really looking forward to it since last year, my little guy who loves Cars the most has strep throat and didn’t get to go. Then it’s SDCC and my Cars Summer of Love will be complete.

Hey Everyone, you should check your local Kmarts NOW!, I went to several Kmarts and they had already released the cars and are available now at some of the stores. I was able to pick up two sets, one for me and one for ebay.
Doesn’t anyone know how to read ???? (I am referring to Kmart employees, of course!) Happy for you dude, but seriously…. how hard is it to follow a few simple instructions!?!?!
hey i checked the list i recall the cases also being at select Sears. Anyone know if that will be the case this year as i would rather go to Sears.
There are 3 by us about 45 minutes away yay i guess we will check for leftovers anyway unless we get all the extras in the first one
I honestly don’t see many stores having leftovers in the more populated areas. May have a shot in the smaller towns. It was a free for all after everyones number was called last year.

Based on your experience….are there typically a lot of cars left over after the event has ended. I am in Orange County CA with 3 Kmarts in my immediate vicinity. Do you think it is worth it for me to attend one for the event and hit the other two after the event to check for left overs?
I went to five stores that day and everyone had leftovers, but none had Edwin Kranks…the real Chase Car that day!!!
Plenty of stores listed for Massachusetts but the store listed in Palmer is actually on Boston Rd route 20, not Wilbraham Rd. Lucky for me I don’t have that far to go.
Maybe YOU don’t have to go far. But according to MapQuest, the distance from my house to the Kmart where we will be attending the Kmart event is 1651 miles! LOL 🙂

NO! Our store was the last one ON the list . . . we are ALL GOOD!! Actually, I am a very lucky Floridian as there are 5 Kmarts with in 25 miles of me . . . I am in KMART Heaven . . . it’s a shame they NEVER HAVE ANYTHING . . . except for on KMART DAYS!! 🙂
Dude, when I was in Ft. Lauderdale back in April, K-Mart was the ONLY store where I found anything! I even found a Jerry hauler there. Can’t wait to go back on June 25th! BTW, PirateDad suggested you and me should hook up, I’ll be in Daytona on July 4 for the big race!!
Lauderdale is far enough away from the DISNEY WORLD black hole!! We just do not seem to get much and there are plenty of CASE STALKERS in our area.
I have to laugh about the race day situation! We vowed years ago NEVER to go anywhere NEAR the speedway on race days. Traffic is UNREAL. Never been to a race, but I imagine we will one day as my son gets a little older!!
Traffic for the Daytona 400 is nowhere near the same as for the 500. We went to the 400 last year too, and we had no traffic problems whatsoever! People had warned us to come early to beat the traffic, but it really wasn’t that bad at all. Now, if you’re talking about the traffic for a Space Shuttle launch, THAT is different… THAT traffic was unreal last November…

I’ve read multiple reports that some Kmarts have apparently decided not to wait and are already putting CARS Day case cars on the hooks…….which probably explains some of the Ebay listings we’re seeing.
I wonder what Kmart’s DEV(?) would think of those stores?
