Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS; Check Lane Short Cards, Check, Please!
The Check Lane short card series is checking out.
2 and out.
They are still available in the warehouse but now listed as discontinued so at some point going forward, you still might see them at Kmart – maybe the sales rep will offer them a deal to clean out the warehouse or perhaps it will be sold off to places like Big Lots or FiveBelow …
They never really made much sense – and strangely as the lenticulars are coming, whereas these might’ve served as the ‘classics’ line, they are discontinuing it. Weird. It’s kind of like Donna’s sister on The 70’s Show – yep, made like 2 appearances – then they decided they didn’t need an extra character so they disappeared her – never to be heard from again …
The last case available – notable for the first US appearance of red rim Mario and the oddball inclusion of Sally with Cone.

Our nearest Target got rid of the side caps with short cards entirely, weeks ago.
BTW, it’s obvious why this “Lane Mates” line is failing. There are clearly not enough Lightning McQueens in each case assortment. 🙂
The regular singles cards are changing to semi-short cards so no need to have two runts. 🙂
WOO HOO! Finally scored Red Rim Andretti for $1.74!!!!
Caught up……………………..for now…………………
My Target is selling them for $1.74 on clearance, well they were until I cleaned them out 🙂
I am pretty sure that wood be the wholesale cost..most businesses operate on a traditional keystone of double their costs…allows for markdowns…WM might get a better price, and do usually operate on smaller margins.
…Is that so?
I sometimes find the parallelogram can sometimes affect the decision making that is carried out on upper-level financial redemption scales…
Thought we can assume there is a standard ratio deviation between the right and left classification of …
YOU SHOULD WORK FOR MATTY WITH ALL THAT MUMBO_JUMBO!!!
This is Conehead Sally’s first reappearance since the WM Cube (Nov 1, 2008)
I’m glad they are discontinuing this line, I hated that they didn’t put the numbers on these, like that would have been that hard to do. seems less cost effective to have to make 2 different name tickets for the same car.
Time to do away with the Mini’s too!! 😆
Hey now!
I think they should have done the minis with the lenticular eye thing. That goes together better, like peanut butter and jam. On the diecast line its more like bologna and jam.
Unlike PB and Bologna, which is actually pretty good.
Another good place to check for these would be Ross. They have been getting a ton of Mattel stuff lately.
Glad I found my red rims Mario already!
I got lucky one day at Target and found a red rim Mario too. What a shock 🙂
Donna had a sister?
(MET: Mentioned in a couple episodes – only one appearance – Tina Pinciotti – IMDB Info)
I know I will always remember Eric’s sister!
… pervert… 🙂
pouahhahah.. I guess is not the only one ’round here! 🙂
On IMDB it states in the triva that Donna had 2 sisters Tina (appeared in one episode) and Valerie (mentioned in one episode).
No relation to Jenny Piccolo…
🙂
Our Target marked all of the “checklane” Cars down to $2.44 yesterday
Did you get any Mario’s?
Don’t forget Richie Cunningham’s older brother Chuck from Happy Days.
Who? What’s “Happy Days?”
🙂
John,
You beat me to the punch man!!!
Chuck the basketball dribbling older brother who vanished never to be seen again!
In all the time they were released, I never saw them ever in a check-out aisle.
Target ended up putting them with the regular cards in the toy section.
Same with Kmart.
Collect them all!
This is a series that might actually gain value now.
cool!! – gonna get mine soon
