Business 2.0 Magazine Is Officially Dead
Business 2.0 will cease publication with its October issue this year. Launched by Future Media back in 1998 and subsequently sold to Time back in 2000, B2 has had a very interesting run for a magazine.
Time has turned down offers from Mansueto Ventures (owners of Fast Company) and others with the buzz on the street being that Time doesn’t wish to gird competitors against their remaining stable of biz mags such as Fortune.
So, B2 joins the dead carcass heap littered with the remains of eCompany Now (folded into B2 by Time), Red Herring, The Industry Standard, Upside, and others.
How long before Conde Nast DOA title Portolio joins its ranks? Regardless of the first two issue ad blitz, I’ll drink the kool-aid on that one when they are boasting those numbers 12 months from now.
