Hey everybody, my name is Jason.  I’m a Seattle native now living in the beautiful city of Chicago.  I work in the restaurant business which leaves my days free to scour the empty shelves of the Targets, WMs, TRUs and Kmarts.

WHEN DID YOU START?
I started last year around this time.  I was looking for birthday gifts for my then 2 year old son Lars.  He absolutely loves the movie and these seemed like a slam dunk gift for him.  Little did I know it would turn into the obsession it has become.

WHAT WAS THE FIRST CAR YOU GOT?
The first cars were the dirt track 3 pack.  I wanted to get a LMQ but could not find one at any of  the stores in my area, so I got the only one I could find.

HOW LONG BEFORE YOU HAD CAR #2?
About a ten minute drive from Target to TRU.  It was Darrell Cartrip.

WHEN DID YOU DECIDE/REALIZE YOU NEEDED MORE THAN ONE?
I came home that day with about 12 cars.

WHEN DID YOU REALIZE YOU HAD TO GO BIG INTO THIS THING?
When I saw Lars’ eyes light up and I realized I had to complete the collection.  I didn’t realize how many there were and I thought it wouldn’t take too long.  A year later and I’m still not close.

WHAT WAS THE CRAZIEST THING YOU’VE HEARD ABOUT COLLECTING THESE CARS? (NEVER YOU, SOME OTHER PERSON’S CRAZY STORY.
I gotta say it’s the obscene amount of Bumper Saves and Bob Cutlass’ on a post a few weeks ago.  If I were to do that I think my wife would take my Lugnuts.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CAR?
I think I have to go with the Kmart Cars Day cars.  I wasn’t able to attend the Saturday promotion so Lars and I went on Sunday just to see if any were still on the shelves.  To our delight we saw multiples of the cars on the pegs.  Lars lit up when he saw “new cars daddy! new cars!”.  Great moment and quality cars.  As far as quality-wise I really dig Rusty and Dusty.

My name is Amanda and I am 22. I have a 5 month old son named Damien James. I’m in college and work at a TRU in upstate New York. I am a true Toys R Us kid… if you couldn’t tell, I mean 22 and I still love being around toys.

WHEN DID YOU START?
I bought a few for my nephew the first Christmas I seen them in TRU and he got me hooked on the movie, he had to watch it everyday for about 6 months. Then I decided that I would start a little collection for any future children that I would have.

WHAT WAS THE FIRST CAR YOU GOT?
I’m pretty sure it was Green Ramone.

HOW LONG BEFORE YOU HAD CAR #2?
Well I bought Ramone on my break and about 4 hours later I had like 10 ready to go home with me…

WHEN DID YOU DECIDE/REALIZE YOU NEEDED MORE THAN ONE?
When I noticed how absolutely adorable they were and when I spent about 30 minutes in the back room going through a few cases of them deciding what I wanted.

WHEN DID YOU REALIZE YOU HAD TO GO BIG INTO THIS THING?
After I had those 15 or so, there was no turning back.

The people that drive all over to different Walmart’s and Targets for cars… I mean I understand why and I think it would be fun, but at the same time it would make so much more sense if you knew they actually had anything. The Walmart and Target here never have much of anything : (

Anything Guido and DJ seeing how that’s my son’s name.

Some of the very first ones that I bought that got ruined when I moved (I never thought I would get so upset over metal…) and the movie moments before they are completely a Target exclusive!!!
