Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: Toy Shipment Costs Up 30-50%
The pandemic may be on its last stages but the shipment logistics business has not recovered and shipment costs to the US West Coast are up 30-50% …
And now we can feel the IRL effect on CARS diecast – Leigh S of ComicToyShop notes … “a large number of cases were being cancelled with no reason provided. Mostly cases that have already been distributed through the big box retailers, but it may mean an overall decrease in the availability of all the 2021 releases.”
In layman’s terms – argghhh.
Not that it’s really good news but they might re-offer them but at a higher price … not much room to hide a bump of 30-50% more on shipping … of course, shipping is only a small part of diecast car but we might get another bump – $3.99?

Kroger has had their CARS prices up for some time now. Even before the jump singles were at 4.99, now at 5.99. 2-Packs are 10.99, I don’t buy CARS there much anymore.
Actually I am missing the sale’s of Cars 1,2 and 3 from sellers in China.
I think shipping is the reasoning for no sign of 2021 Cars here in New Zealand yet, considering Australia has recieved 2021 releases and we are a couple thousand kilometres east of Australia.
Need more Cars locally than ebay.
There is comment here because of the pandemic that international shippers are abandoning the New Zealand route for economics and causing problems for exporting of our primary products that rely on ships.
Ironically 7 Log Carriers travel continually back and forth to China from the local port approximately every fourteen days laden with Radiata Pine, returning empty.
This Covid-19 Pandemic is testing the resilience of the global community and the lack of self reliance.

That explains a lot all these empty shelves for weeks and weeks… Still did not see any Deluxe anywhere yet in a super very long time…
That is what I was going to post as well. At least the article explains what has been going on. Knowing this makes me even more thankful for the ones I have found at Walmart and Target!
