Buy $25 of CARS products from Amazon.com (3rd party seller products do NOT count). Then ADD the Disney/Pixar Cars Neon Lightning McQueen & Shu Todoroki Diecast Comic-Con Exclusive 2-Pack to your cart. The discount won’t show up until the next to last screen.

Met this post is misleading. It does not work on all Cars, just the ones that apply to the promotion. The only Cars that work for it show this under ‘Special Offers and Product Promotions.’

So far all I’ve found are these Cars that apply:
– The Precision Series Singles
– Precision Series Flo’s V8 Cafe
– All of the 2015 Two Packs that say ‘ships from and sold by Amazon.com’
– Some, but not all, of the Story Sets tracks
– Radiator Springs 500 1/2 Sarge and Lightning McQueen
– Select 2015 Disney/Pixar Cars Singles (Nigel Gearsley, Pit Crew Member Sarge, Color Changer Ramone)

Thank you for figuring this out, clearly I wasn’t picking the correct items yesterday when I tried to place an order. I ordered 3 Precision Series Cars today, good to go.
Fillmore1234’s list is fairly accurate, but not all inclusive. It’s a good guideline to follow, but if you do not get the item free on the “Amazon Review your order” screen you most likely have NOT reached the $25 in qualifying purchases. In some cases, due to individual item prices, you can be fairly sure that you have (i.e., Flo’s V-8 cafe), but if you are selecting a number of lower priced items you may have to read on.
I made 2 phone calls to Amazon before I was able to get the details straightened out. If you find an item you THINK qualifies toward the $25 purchase requirement, scroll down a bit on the item’s screen and check for “Special Offers and Product Promotions” (this usually appears in between “Customers who bought this item also bought…” and the “Product Description”. In order to qualify, the item must have the same offer which appears on the free item; “Spend $25 on select Disney Cars and get a Disney/Pixar Cars Neon…”. If the suspected item does NOT have this offer listed, it does not qualify toward the $25.
Amazon didn’t make this one easy; you might have to work for it !

I get to the “place order button” and it still says full price.
I can’t seem to get it to work either, maybe I’m not holding my mouth right. I added a bunch of stuff, all shipped and sold from Amazon but during checkout it doesn’t discount the set. I even tried adding 2 of them, didn’t work. C’est la vie 🙂
Maybe I missed the deal or it expired? I can’t seem to get it to come up.
(MET: It looks hidden if you visit Amazon via mobile but the offer is still good. You can visit the page through our link, then add $25 worth of CARS and then lick ADD the Neon Racers. You presumably can add it first and then add other CARS items as it should be smart enough to figure it out but? – good luck!).

I check Amazon every day for new Cars releases. Amazon’s algorithms have noticed and every time I visit the page, Cars items show up. I already had a Neon 2-pack so I almost ignored the offer until I realized what it really was.
By-the-way, our original ComiCon set came in a white box, the Amazon one came in a sealed clear bag.
What white box?? It came wrapped in that cloth, and I ordered one on amazon and it came the same way.

Hi John, I’m a newbie on here but enjoy your posts. Thanks for the tip on the Neon Racers. It took a few tries but it finally worked. How do you keep up with this stuff!:)
I think eBay is the best source of information. (since Mattel never tells the fans anything) Coming releases show up first on eBay via Chinese sellers.
