U-Drop Inn Cafe in Shamrock, Texas …
I think I’ve seen the U-Drop Inn Cafe in Shamrock, Texas – somewhere, it seems real familiar … off of Route 66. Built by architect Joseph Barry in 1936, it’s now owned by the city and used as a visitor’s center.

I stop by and shoot more pictures every time I pass through there along Old 66 when I do one of my 66 tours. I remember when it wasn’t so well maintained in the mid 1980’s; but today it looks wonderful.
For a further treat, go a few miles west to McLean Texas and stay the night in the one hotel. Drive down their main street at 1:00 am and the place looks exactly like the abandoned main drag of Radiator Springs at night.
