Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: 2015 Singles R Case
Presumably coming next is CASE R – from the scant description, there looks like there’s another new Lightning McQueen?
“Road Repair Lightning McQueen”
Of course, we have Lighting McQueen with Tar – one of the weakest Lightning McQueen versions – not to mention any CARS diecast release.
When he gets splashed with tar, he’s already kind of dusty, so maybe we’ll get an upgraded 3-dimensional tar? Plus an overspray like Willie Butte’s McQueen?
He pretty much spends the next few scenes splashed with tar and dusty during the race with Doc. Of course, we already have the releases – Cactus McQueen when he crashes into the cactus and Tumbleweed McQueen with the plastic shrubbery on his head.
Luke, Dinoco Pitty is also listed – presumably he will lose the face crease and be a unibody. Luke is really the only other long time not re-released diecast …
Also coming as “new” singles – Dash Boardman & View Zeen.
View Zeen will probably lose the raised windshield and just be painted.
The rest seem to be fairly common re-releases … well, some not out for a couple years but hardly any real rarities.
Thanks for the heads up, “Rob (My 7 Kids)!”
…this case also started here in Germany this week, and the correct Name for this lightning is “Road Repair Lightning McQueen”…
…if you want to have a detailed look on, here are some pics of mine:

I am new to all of this so trying to understand the lingo. What are you talking about when you say “case”? Are these the cases Mattel ships out to distributors?
(MET: Yes, this is the case (and case assortment) Mattel sellers to distributors-retailers & resellers – you can buy the entire case from resellers or buy them individually from retailers).
In addition to what Met said, it’s helpful to know each case’s contents when you’re out shopping. You can gauge how far along your local stores are in the release year, and you can also figure out which new releases you missed when you spot the pegwarmers.
Well, maybe they’ll get Dirt Track McQueen right this time, and finally put the “Rust-eze” logo on the spoiler?
dirt track Mcqueen combined with Tar Mcqueen. that’s funny Mattel.
This model can be canon to cars (2006) with a Rust-eze logo on the spoiler.
This “new” Mcqueen is out in Europe and called Road Repair Mcqueen. Pictures were posted on this thread. He looks pretty good. He does not have Dirt Track Mcqueen’s brown tires.

The clean tires are kind of glaring, but would be easy enough to dirty up somewhat. I guess I am back to doing a custom overspray on a regular LMQ and swapping the wheels, if I want a properly decaled Dirt Track McQueen.
Mattel should just skip this Case and go on to the next one. What a waste of time…
This’ll be the Case that every store across the country orders multiples of so that we never see another 2015 Case again. Just watch.
The only word to describe that case is “weak”.
