Disney Planes Fire & Rescue: Disney Store Ryker – Not Quite Quenching
Who doesn’t love the airport fire vehicle (from Rosenbauer?)
Going by the screenshot, clearly he should be much bigger than Mayday …
So as great as the Disney Store Mayday in his detailing and heavyweight metal, he is clearly oversized. DS Ryker might be a better fit with Mattel’s Mayday?
Ryker looks great next to Mattel’s Lightning McQueen.
Thanks for the great pics, “Mack Me Bucko” & “John H.”
You can check out all the Disney Store Planes Fire & Rescue diecasts here.
the Mattel Ryker is available for preorder at Walmart.com.
Disney Planes Fire & Rescue Ryker:•Based on the adventures in Disney’s Planes: Fire & Rescue
•Character vehicle is full of personality and moveable features
•Moving crane arm to help him with his air safety investigations
Product in Inches (L x W x H): 8.5 x 3.0 x 8.5
Does the DS Ryker have the moving crane arm like Mattel’s version?
The water arm pivots up and down and the end telescopes slightly.
I got Disney Stores Windlifter today and he is smaller than I’d hoped and has a lot of plastic, plastic in the same areas I’d expect from Mattel, not DS.
Ryker has the typical DStore PCP eyes.
In the second image from the bottom, that’s a Disney Store Ryker and Chug, with the Mattel Mayday … great post, Met!!
Rosenbauer manufacturing is only a few minutes from my house and I have taken tours of their facilities since I teach engineering classes not too far from there. It looks to me like the movie version of Ryker is scaled too large perhaps to emphasize how tough he is. In reality Ryker would not be as large as he is compared to Mayday in the movie. With that said, since ryker is huge in the movie, he should be larger as a diecast as well.
