Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: Race Off Ridge Track Set Returns (Sort of)
The Race Off Ridge Track Set has returned (sort of) … (technically, it’s not out yet but it’s coming).
It’s a hodge-podge Frankenstein track set. Yep, 2 years ago, it was called Cliffside Challenge … and apparently, if the construction of it is weak – you call it a feature – ‘breakaway cliff?’ 🙂
It looks like the plastic brown trestles are replaced with light tan trestles and you get plastic CARS 1 Lightning versus plastic Francesco, the sign reads Radiator Springs now … and I think you get a green cactus accessory? So, really … it’s TOTALLY NEW!
Well, long time collectors might actually remember the name belonging to THIS TRACK SET so … what’s old is really new …

The Race off ridge from 09 …does that say Bug mouth McQueen? …clearly, it’s dirt track.

I always enjoy seeing the box art featured on RSC sets.
Race-off Ridge also saw recycling in Cars 2. (The included plastic Raoule Caroule had the correct black windshield stripe that the die cast never has.)
