Mattel Disney Pixar CARS Diecast: Jeff Gorvette & John Lassetire 2-Pack
Well, if you missed him as a DVD Box Set exclusive or as a Kmart exclusive, the John Lassetire is coming back (with Jeff Gorvette in a regular retail 2-pack release).
For the geeks, some things to note …First John Lassetire is NOT on the poster either as a single or as a 2-pack.They are listed as #14 of 15 & #15 of 15 of the WGP sub-theme but the numbering of the WGP sub-theme (from the poster) shows there are supposed to be 17 vehicles in that grouping.
In fact, Jeff Gorvette is listed with the singles as #16 of 17 but he has NOT been released so far as a single through 2013 and he is NOT listed as a singles release through the end of the year but they could always add a case or two.
Also, John Lassetire is listed as Jeff Gorvette’s Crew Chief – will that change in the release? Will they do a card v2 release? I only bring it up as it’s John Lassetire, if it was Francesco’s Crew Chief, no one really cares what his name is …
But all and all, this card & numbers assigned are off – whether this was an early card and things will be fixed or they will just make it up as they go along?

Well.. here’s to hopefully finding them. Hopefully Carla Veloso’s Crew Chief also pops up sometime along with the others that never made it to my area :-/
MATTEL’s forced premium is unacceptable.
Time to unload those couple of extra Kmart 2-packs…
Jeff Gorvette HAS been released as a 2013 single on the check lane cards. My TRU has like 10 of them.
I believe those are updated unibodies with the corvette logo on front.

The WGP Logo on the corner and the background are different.

I also was a Kmart exclusive but with Mattel, that means nothing.
I feel that this won’t get released. Who knows what Mattel’s up too this time.
I would definitely buy this as I never got John and I need the current Uni body Gorvette with logo.

Meanwhile,John Lassetire is a boring old pickup truck, and the only remotely intereresting variant he comes in is the Hawaiian surf dude at you have to buy as a custom unless you’ve a couple of grand and lots of luck to spare.
Why not Carla and crew chief and Francesco and crew chief, I need those!!

Target and Walmart are swimming in current two packs, especially the Raoul and Nigel sets. Without a huge two pack clearance there won’t be room for new ones.
My Walmart hasn’t even gotten the Raoul and Nigel packs. It’s still stuffed with the Zen Masters and occasional Tomber.
Interesting, but no surprise that they would rerelease that one. Hope the get around to releasing the ones that have not YET been released! Just my two cents …
