Mattel Disney Pixar CARS Toons: Moon Mater “Autonaut to the Rescue” Play Set
The “Autonaut to the Rescue” play set is out … Previously called “Moon Mater Stunt set.”
At first, I thought it was a bit of a stretch to promise, “Launch & Land on the Moon!” But they covered themselves legally by including a (paper?) mat that is “the moon.”
Apparently your kids will be astonished at how it’s like magic. You place your plastic Autonaut McQueen and lo and behold, it travels 250,000 miles just like that (well, not 1:1 scale miles).
In space, everything including the shuttle may look 2-dimensional.
I’d hate to see the rejected play set ideas for Moon Mater …

According to Blucollection’s review from a while ago, it’s a die cast included.
Just the same as the Mater the Greater playset with less accessories

I saw this set at the TRU at I-25 and 164th.
Looks like McQueen jumps a solid 3 inches there. How fun.
Any idea what they mean about the 12 character car series in 2013?
(MET: Might be that “Silver Series.”)
There are 12 categories, right? Piston cup, WGP, Lemons, etc…
Sad for Cars and the space program…
