While we have a list of the new CARS 2 oversized-deluxe coming and the contents of CASE A, B & C. As usual, both sets of “answers” opens up another can of worms …

Since the first three cases of oversized/deluxe coming do not show off the “missing” CARS from 2012 – what’s the scoop?

As usual, there are no definitive answers (that would be too easy) …

So, the most obvious ones that should get a release are Taia Decotura (Tire Talky Truck) …

and Taco Mater since they’ve been released internationally. But of course, there are other international releases without a US version.

One possible avenue is the mythical Walmart pallet drop … since we have not seen or heard anything for now, one scenario is that it’ll show up for the Christmas reset – singles, oversized plus some playsets on the pallet. This scenario would also explain why in CASE A of 2013 oversize deluxe, there is only 1 Kabuki Mater and 1 Ivan Mater – generally, Mattel will usually introduce a new character with 2 in a case (chase cars excluded) unless it appears in another format (such as a box set) or perhaps at WM on a pallet drop will include the last two oversized of 2012 + some Kabuki’s or Ivan Mater’s … again, just a possibility.

I guess we’ll know about November 10th as to what the actually answer and course of action is.

The other scenario is that it disappears into a US distribution black hole to appear many months or even years later like Richard Clayton Kensington … though since one of these is a Mater, months seems like a better guess than years but again, you can’t spell CARS diecast with L-O-G-I-C.

It does seem more likely that minor characters fall into the distro black hole such as Minion Forklist – Muggsy Liftsome …

Or Andy Gearsdale …

Or some others from this last listing for 2012 … most/many are simply repaints or in the case of Padre, not even that so it seems strange they are not carried over on the list for 2013 … and the list for 2013 is mostly Mater’s but perhaps they felt that was more enticing to retailers and once they go the ball re-rolling, they could fold back in the more minor characters. So, it might be a long wait …

The only oversized case available is CASE R. The next cases listed as coming are cases A, B & C for 2013.

You probably didn’t want to know that CASE P was listed as: 1) Pope, 1 Dragster Mater, 2 Andy Gearsdale and 2 Sgt. Highgear, the Palace Guard … :-/
