Disney Pixar CARS: Disney Store Europe Lightning Series Revealed
Thanks to the sleuthing powers of “David V.,” we can rest a little easier. The Disney Store Country Flag Lightning McQueen series is 1:43 scale.
So, if you are a Mattel 1:55 series collector, you can relax and the nightmare thought of chasing down an Isle of Man Lightning McQueen to trade for a Lichtenstein one is not happening. 🙂
If you’re a Disney Store 1:43 completist collector, you’ve got work to do and make some European buddies …
Based on this design, we can guess that the Spain design will look like Miguel Camino’s motif on the roof and sides, Francesco’s for the Italian, Max Schnell for Germany, Shu for Japan and Nigel Gearsley for GB … Lightning presumably will look pretty much the same except for an American flag on the hood? US Disney claims it will NOT be Stars & Stripes Lightning McQueen.
So, the designers will have more free rein on the remaining 5 countries – it will be interesting to see what they come up with.
So, US Disney Store diecast collectors will have a new set of CARS to add to your collector. If you’re strictly a 1:55 collector, we all dodged a bullet. 🙂
I’m not exactly sure why these are not going to be available in the US, it would seem that collectors would like the option of collecting this series …

No interest what so ever, and I even buy the Disney characters that haven’t been released by Mattel yet.
I will help all the US peeps looking for these that i can, once they appear in my local stores i will post some of my MANY needs and trade for them, i was at DS yesterday but nothing yet.
The GB one does not look like Nigel, he is the same design as the fake ones from ebay, he has been released now, since I live in the UK I am excited about theese 🙂 but feel sorry for people who were looking forward to getting theese in the US but got dissapointed 🙁

I have just bought 4 great Britain cars. The lady said i was only allowed 3!! The lady told me not all stores are getting them.
They are £8 each.
I will be getting spares ready to do some swops to help you guys out.
Met i have a picture of all the cars in a store display, i asked how i could buy it at the end they said no chance!!!! I said how about £200 for charity, they said disney want them back!! Ha ebay more like!
Im so not happy about this! My son and i collect disney store cars. 🙁 I wonder whos smart idea it was to not make these available in the US?!?! 🙁
