Dinner at Carthay Circle Restaurant includes a three-course meal featuring modern cuisine that pays tribute to the bold and diverse flavors of Southern California, and a special wine presentation, as well as preferred boarding on Radiator Springs Racers.
To celebrate these previews and the grand reopening of Disney California Adventure, the Disneyland Resort is spreading the happiness by donating a total of $500,000 to Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and the Anaheim Community Foundation.
Cars Land expands Disney California Adventure by 12 acres and immerses guests in the thrilling world of the Disney•Pixar blockbuster Cars. Guests will feel as if they have stepped into the town of Radiator Springs as they enjoy three family attractions showcasing characters and settings from the movie, plus Cars-themed dining and shopping locations such as Flo’s V8 Café, Ramone’s House of Body Art, and Radiator Springs Curios.
Starting June 15, guests will enter Disney California Adventure along Buena Vista Street, a place that transports them to an era when Walt Disney arrived with new dreams in California: 1920s Los Angeles. Buena Vista Street features Red Car Trolleys, inspired by the transportation system that once served Southern California, and the Carthay Circle Theatre, modeled after the site of the 1937 world premiere of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
NOTE: Available only to D23 Members in good standing. Members may reserve a ticket for themselves and one (1) guest for one of the experiences listed on June 9 OR June 10. I have tickets for the 9th 6-11pm time slot. I am super excited.
I wonder what type of merchandise, especially diecasts will be available at Carsland? If this doesn’t call for a return to Cars 1 classics nothing will. Man are they going to miss the boat if visitors of Radiator Spings can’t buy a Sally, Lizzie etc.
I Can just imagine some of the comments the sales staff will get when they have to explain to Cars fan that sorry they don’t make Lizzie or Sarge anymore even though you just attended the opening of Lizzie’s curio shop etc. Ridiculous if that’s the case.
Does anyone know, if you buy the D23 preview, each is listed for a four hour period, do they kick you out after four hours?
How do these events usually work?
It looks to me that a family of four could preview Cars Land for about $500.
$81/child 1-park, 1-day (x2) = $162
$87/adult 1-park, 1-day (x2) = $174
D23 memberships for both adults = $35/yr (x2) = $70
D23 Cars Land event, each adult w/guest = $50 (x2) = $100
Total = $506 (no parking, travel, lodging, food souvenirs, etc.)
(MET: Um, Cheaper than two $295 burgers?)
Storytellers statuette?
Sucks that I’m D23 but like in Oregon…. I really wanted to go
I saw the preview with John Lassiter on the Indy 500 pre race show
Me too! That was really neat.
Sweet…
