Raise the price, then put it on sale?

(MET: The $119 has always been the regular retail price. Amazon has always sold it as the discounted rate of @$79 so yes, $53 is not 55% off $79 but showing the discount off the ‘highest’ price is typical … and you do save @$26 off the “normal” price).
I just ordered it, $54 shipped, beats $79 plus tax at Wally World

Yeah, but the list price is now $119; so technically, it’s still on sale.
55% off of $79 might have made it worth my while. 55% off after a 40% markup, not so much.
