Mattel Disney Pixar CARS 2: Crabby Boat – Pinch Me
For those keeping track of the mythical Quick Changers Transporters series … here’s Mattel’s take on Crabby Boat (and presumably a shot of Finn so you get an idea of the scale).
I say mythical because there does not seem to be a lot of evidence these are coming out anytime soon but anything is possible. Since these all have some moving feature, I take it you can raise and lower Finn (or another diecast). I presume Finn is not included …
Is it just me or does it seem … um, lacking? Is that the right word (when compared to the Disney Store Crabby Boat?)

Amazon is now listing this Crabby boat for about $13, in stock. Does anyone know what about it transforms?
Found it at Target last night. The deck flips over so Finn McMissile (sold separately) can hide below deck. Pics on the forum.
We have the DStore Crabby, haven’t cracked him open yet, but he looks a lot better than this phantom Mattel version. Heck, the DStore version even has rusty scuppers!
Question for anyone who has opened their DStore Crabby, how long do the crane and antenna masts last for? They look like they are about to fall off on ours and it is still in the box…
Yeah, I agree; it does look incredible! Hopefully the tiny parts will last longer than the Disney Store Dinoco Helicopter landing gear.
My Disney Store Dinoco Helicopter lost a wheel within the first hour I gave to my son. I glued it back on and it was gone again a few days later. Now he has a special landing pad that compensates for his lack of proper wheels. I think I have a picture in our collection on the forum.
That reminds me of my old helo days. When we had a broken landing gear, our special landing pad was a stack of mattresses cargo strapped to a pallet. Worked pretty good though.
Its holding up pretty well. After a month with my two-man demolition crew ( 4 yr old twin boys) the DS Crabby Boat hasn’t lost anything. Its my impression that Disney made a number of Cars mistakes last year and has learned from them. For example the cheap cast PVC Cars figurines now carry a sticker boasting of wheels that turn!
Picked up a Disney Store Crabby last week during the 30% off deal. After seeing the Crabby above, I’m glad I did.

I don’t have the Disney Store Crabby yet, but it’s on my Christmas list… I’ve seen one (and a Siddeley) that a friend has, and they are definitely sweet.
