NASA: Teacher, Teacher – To the Moon!
NASA has launched a new rocketship to the moon – to snap indepth pictures of Moon … (maybe so Domino’s Pizza can build the first pizzeria on the moon?)
It’s called project GRAIL.
NASA’s Gravity Recovery and Interior Laboratory (GRAIL) mission will launch twin spacecraft in tandem orbits around the Moon to measure its gravity in unprecedented detail. The mission will answer key questions about the Moon’s internal structure and give scientists a better understanding of how our solar system formed.
But what’s cooler is that students & teachers can register their class and request where to snap pics!
GRAIL MoonKAM will allow classrooms to request pictures of the lunar surface from cameras on the twin satellites. As we count down to the GRAIL launch, we will be adding exciting features and resources to this site, including student activities, teacher guides, and more.

Adults who like Powerpoint Presentations can check out the regular NASA site.
I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon!
A key theory is that the moon was formed out of a collision. The molten earth was hit by a large body during the early bombardment of the solar system, and the moon was a piece of the earth. This mission should be able to help confirm or deny that theory. Its really a double planet system, Earth and Moon.
So supposedly 42 years ago we had the technology to land on the moon but just can’t seem to do it again all these years later.
Now instead we are send moon orbiters around to measure gravity and take pictures?
Wouldn’t you think they already had the gravity figured out before the supposed landing? and wouldn’t just landing on the moon again yield better pictures?
Just doesn’t make sense to me.
Then again I better not question the official media version on this or this or any other event, less I be labeled a conspiracy theorist for just not accepting what we are fed.
Would have been nice to spend the money on things we really need here though like jobs before we spend money to take close ups of the moon.
If you take July 20, 1969 only as a snapshot in the vacuum of time without knowing the entire history of the Space Race, then I think I can begin to understand the incredulous notion that can grow out of control into conspiracy theories.
The United States made numerous lunar missions in the 1960’s — some were successful, some were not. There were also unmanned soft landings on the moon — again, some were successful, some were not. Thousands upon thousands of photos were sent back from all of these missions.
The United States also made numerous manned trips into space and onto the moon itself. In fact, there were five more successful manned moon landings after that first one on July 20, 1969.

I heard that the Decepticons wanted to make sure we didn’t return to the moon so they manipulated the stock market and made it cost prohibitive to send anymore missions after 1972.
Domino’s Pizza can send their entire inventory of that god-awful garlic butter mess to the moon for all I care!
Personally, I like that, but I doubt my arteries do.
I am just imagining how hard it would be to make a hand tossed pizza on the moon.
Actually, it should be easier due to the longer “hang time” from the lower gravity levels — as long as you didn’t toss it hard enough to achieve escape velocity!
