After looking on Kmart’s website it says temporary unavailable for the pre-order. I sure hope people get the right set considering on what happened last time. I refused to order them on-line this time because I did get the wrong ones for Kmart event 5 and was not happy. 🙁
…. but in Rome (and in Italy) on June 22 the appointment is to all the cinema for the premiere of Cars2 and it is right that a typically Italian product as Cars2 is shown before that in the U.S. ….. or not? 🙂

Why Kmart had to put their logo on it is beyond me. 🙁
Ramone is cool other than that I am not to happy with this selection at all. Kmart 5 was my favorite. 🙂
June 25: Wake up, drive to LA, go to KMart event, get some lunch, go see Cars 2 at the El Capitan Theatre, enjoy post movie festivities, get snack at the Disney Soda Shoppe and look for Cars pins, drop kids at Grandma’s. Shaping up to be the best day ever.
So I’ve never done a Kmart thing. How does it work?
(MET: You can read the one for the last one – we will post a few days before).
Make sure to go to a KMart that is participating (not all of them do). Get there on time. Proceed to collector event area (usually near toy department) Get raffle ticket (take some cute kids with you if you want/need more than one ticket). When they call your number, you will have a set amount of time (a few minutes) to go through the case and choose what you will buy. Wait ’til the end when they raffle off posters etc. Usually they will put all the leftovers on a table and have a free for all after all tickets have been called. Go to the register and purchase your loot.
About how long does it last? Noon?
Or, it could go the same way as the last event at my local Kmart: Show up at the appointed time, and make your way to the toy department. Finding no one there and no sign of an event, go to Customer Service and ask. Take them to front door and point out poster with date and time, if necessary. Watch staff scratch heads until the one manager who knows something about it shows up and says, “Oh, was that today?” Wait while manager retrieves the case and opens it. Select your CARS and check out. Encounter no other CARS day participants the entire time. Wonder if this location will even bother to participate in the next event, and how far you’ll have to drive if they don’t.
Oh, and call ahead a few days in advance, so you don’t waste a trip if they’ve already opted out.
Will the 2-pack crew chief sets be out that day also?

Sure would have been better had they offered more unique cars. Alas, as we all know, attempting to make money is not KSearsMart Holdings’ strong suit.
Met do we know the actual case contents and quantities yet? I’m still having a hard time getting past the “20 Cars in a case that usually holds 24 Cars” thing.
I wonder if Ramone will be packed in a slightly bigger bubble (because of his hydraulics), so there will be fewer total Cars in the box
I remain convinced that there will be 4 pegwarmers completing the case. But yeah, Ramone would have to be in a bubble 3 times the normal size to have 20 Cars in this case.
Hydraulic Ramone is normal size in regular singles packaging. Many smaller retailers already have them. They are not Kmart Exclusives as has been stated.

It’s going to be a little easier only having to keep track of 7 different Cars at the event… not having to put any undesirable (lenticular) pegwarmers off to the side to get what I want… I am going to order 1 case online during the pre-sale and possibly 2…
June 24 and June 25 can’t get here quickly enough for me…

Three words for you – SOS only ever.
It’s actually very ironic that Steve Jobs — the guy who stole the Apple name from the Beatles’ Apple Records — is clinging to the copyright so stringently. Maybe just one toy car would persuade a parent to buy an Apple product over a competitor’s, but he continues to miss a great marketing opportunity.
Releasing Mac iCar is nothing more than advertising for Apple. Why not put it out for Kmart day 7 in October just in time for whatever product Apple puts out right before Christmas. Then you get people to actually enter a Kmart just in time to start shopping for Christmas. Sounds like a win-win-win situation for Mattel, Apple, and Kmart. I guess that would make too much sense, right?
Now THAT would be a Collectors Event!
