If you’re keeping track, it’s about 121 CARS from 2007 to earlier this month (yes, the Disney Resort Pirate Mater & friends are included! – as you can see in the open pics above).
Magazine is actually 8.5″ by 11″ – this is just a reproduction preview.
Yes, ISSUES #5 (Final Lap) & Issue #6 (Lenticulars) are coming next … I did skip from Issue #4 (Race O Rama) to #7 since Toons were definitely at a nice break point.
Hopefully we should get more Toons by Holiday 2011 but if not, presumably by early 2012.

I do “NEED” / “WANT” No 5 and 6… PLEASE SOMEONE PINCH ME IF I AM SLEEP WHEN IT COME AVAILABLE!
Hi, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I wanted to get a list of all Cars is this the only book I need? Is there a reason to buy the previous volumes. I am not worried about the Cards WOC, Desert etc. Just the Car itself. I also saw this one available “http://www.lulu.com/product/hardcover/mattel-pixar-cars-the-story-checklist-2006-2007/2696672” . So I don’t have duplicate images of Cars like I end up with duplicate Die-cast Cars; can anyone help me out because I definitely need one. With 400+ cars I have lost track and don’t know if I missed anything.
(MET: The book only goes through 2008 – the opener issue of the magazine goes through 2010 – we plan on updating it soon so if you want an open photo of from everything from 2006 to 2011 – you still need to wait a little while. Thanks!!! One other quick question partially unrelated. I have a McQueen Daredevil with Flames. I have never been able to find another one. Just curious if it is a Factory Sample that never was released. I did get it over seas OOB. According to wiki http://pixar.wikia.com/Cars_Toons_Die-Cast_Line it was suppose to be in the one box set number 4 but I have that box set NIB and it does not have flames. Just curious what the Cars God has to say. Thanks!!!
There were two versions — one with teeth and one without.
One version came as a Mega Size single, and the other was in the 4-pack.
Yeah, we have one with buck teeth and one with just the fuses sticking out which was in the single and 4-back with vendor and lug and nutty. Are you saying there was another 4-pack version with McQueen with flames instead of fuses. The one we have actually has plastic flames shooting out the back and it is die-cast not plastic.
I don’t buy the Disney Store stuff, but maybe it’s from there?

Got your Openers checklist yesterday. Very Nice! Now my son will be able to pick out the ones he doesn’t have yet, so the hunt for Cars 1 cars can continue along with Cars 2 searches. Looks like an Apple Car, Race Damaged Mood Springs, Bubba, the cousins, and the Motorama girls will be the next ones on the list. He might have to wait until Christmas or his Birthday for those due to the cost.
Kinda strange that they are sorted alphabetically, and not by Toon series, don’t you think? It would be so much easier to see whether you have all of them rather than jumping pages all over.
(MET: Yea, I debated it but ultimately decided to by number for the singles and alpha for the oversized – part of the problem is that it’s wildly uneven so it was kind of hard to “stack” them since some had hardly any releases as singles or as oversized).
My only complaint – no picture of carded Daredevil Lightning McQueen.
How do i go about getting these awsome looking checklist booklets….???
