“Tarmac the Magnificent”? Could that be an homage to Johhny Carson? Will the character of Tarmac “divine” something by holding an envelope up to his roofline? THAT sounds intriguing!
I just love Pixar film soundtracks from all the films. It’s great to see Michael Giacchino doing more Pixar soundtrack work however I do have a soft spot for Randy Newman too. Plus, Weezer rock!

Looks like Pixar is keeping the story pretty basic with the usual swerves.
I don’t think I ever heard of anyone refered to as an oil baron as being a good guy. When I read his bio, first person I thought of was Daniel Plainview.
Too bad Sheryl Crow isn’t on the new CD as well…she did a great job with the Bond Theme “Tomorrow Never Dies,” and it would’ve been fun to see/hear her do a Bond-type song for Mater.
I enjoyed the music from the Cars soundtrack, and I’m sure I’ll enjoy the music from the Cars2 soundtrack… My favorite song from the first soundtrack was the instrumental when McQueen and Sally went for a drive and McQueen saw the waterfall for the first time…
This will be a must have. Everytime we listen to the Cars 1 soundtrack, the kids tell us what scene the score is from. I love it!! 😀

Between seeing “Cars” in June 2006 and buying the DVD in November 2006, my kids used to line up their Cars and replicate scenes from the movie using one of their Cars storybooks and the oringinal Cars CD. Almost brought my Mom to tears when she saw them doing it once.
One more thing — check out Weezer’s cover of Coldplay’s “La Vida Loca” on YouTube — I think it’s better than the original!
