Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS 2: Deluxe-Oversize Update
The first two cases of the Deluxe-Oversize lineup are a mix of these 4:
Double Decker Bus, Finn Submarine, Red & Holley Shiftwell with Wings.
In CASE C,there is a Double Decker Bus, 2 Submarine Finn McMissile and two new Deluxe CARS including Hydrofoil Finn & (Sumo Wrestler) Kingpin Nobunga.
There is only one in the case because he’s also available in a 3-pack.
If you’re unclear as to how’s he different from Finn Submarine …

Hello all, just a quick note to say that
3 days ago, on May 2nd, CARS 2 items hit the shelves
at my local toy store, Sydney, Australia.
Here are the list (long one) of items that I can remember:
Singles: McQueen (Racing Wheels), RT(RaceTeam) Mater, RT Fillmore, RT Sarge, RT Luigi n Guido, Finn, Holly, Francesco, Acer, Grem, Prof Z.
Launchers: McQueen, Nigel, Shu and Max, (the last 3 are very cool!!!)
Double Pack (1 is exclusive vehicle): Mater n ZEN Master Pitty, Grem n Damaged Rod Torque, Luigi, Guido and Uncle Toppofino, Finn n Todem???, Francesco n McQueen with Party Wheels
Deluxe, 4 from this Deluxe Post, Finn with Sub fin, Holly with Wings, DD Bus and Red.
5-Packs, 3 available,
Trunkov, Rod Torque, Francesco, McQueen and Wasabi Mater
Holly, Finn, Todem, 1 other and RAOUL (COOL RAOUL!!!)
and another pack has Uncle Toppo, Luigi, Guido and 2 others (I think)
there are also 4 playsets, Siddley Spyjet (doubles as storage) and DD Bus (doubles as storage)
and lots of Shake n Go’s and half a dozen talking CARS (McQueen, Mater, Finn etc)
The bad news is singles sell for $10 AUD each OUCH!!!

the exclusive vehicle in Finn & Tomber is Tomber sipping oil
and there is anotehr double pack, Darrell Cartrip and Mustangburger
any pictures of these 5 packs?
I checked out 2 local CVS stores and managed to get Submarine Finn McMissile. I left Red and Double Decker Bus behind because I already had them. Somebody with no life removed Holley with Wings from the package and left the empty behind so I’ll continue the hunt for her.
Contrary to me..I’m leaving Finn and Holley, because I can’t find Red and D.D.Bus..
Zingo! Hit the CVS across the street during lunch, and scored a Double Decker Bus, Holley with wings, and Lights & Sounds Mater!
A bit pricey @$9.99 each, but I am the first kid on my block to have them.
Gonna check the CVS near my house this evening.
One thing I just noticed is that the Double Decker Bus shown on the back of the card with the other “Deluxe” models I’d not the same as the Double Decker Bus in the package. The bus I have is #91, with “Crosshead” on the headsign (Sterling?); the one shown on the back is the #13 to “Killswitch” (Topper Deckington?). Are there two different buses in the Deluxe line, or is the package artwork simply showing the wrong CAR (again)?
I guess you must see the movie to find out 🙂
Stig, the Double Decker Bus I found from case A or B is the same as yours, with the same picture of Killswitch-destined Double Decker Bus on the cardback. The cardback also erroneously depicts “Finn McMissile”, just plain ole Finn, as opposed to Submarine or Hydrofoil Finn. So, I don’t think we should put too much trust in the cardback pictures.
Well, the only CARS at the CVS near my house were a few sad lenticulars on clearance. Same thing at Kohl’s. Still, a good day overall!
And case C is already on ebay. Will the big 3 box stores have all 3 cases on the 16th?

1 Double Decker Bus, 2 Submarine Finn, and 2 new Deluxe – are there 2 of Kingpin the Sumo wrestler and 1 of Hydrofoil Finn, or are there 2 Hydrofoil Finn and 1 Kingpin?
I know a lot of use are waiting to find out… I can’t help but think that a Deluxe case with 4 Finn is just like Mattel repeating the mistakes from the ROR days with 4 or 5 Semis per case.

Found the first 4 (not sumo or hydrofoil) at a CVS – a bit pricey at 9.99 each – but the bus is AWWWWEEESSSOMMMEEEE!
Why get a single sumo wrestler when you can get the 3 pack? Will both Sumos be available as singles? How come Holley with wings doesn’t have a rear stabilizer? Without it, she would not be able to steer and she would crash.
Well the problem here is Mattel distribution and packaging assortments. Very rarely do they package something complete in a multi-pack. I doubt very much that they would make some sort of Sumo 3-Pack, it’s more likely to be Kingpin and some combination if Lightning, Mater, or Finn McMissile.
Unless of course I missed a post or someone has already confirmed what is in said 3-Pack… anyone?
Now THAT is what I am talking about!! I was kinda baffled by the fact that A case and B case were virtually identical. Seems like the perfect plan for peg warming … gosh I hope I am wrong … let’s skip B case and go straight to C. 😀
