I’m 99% sure it’s Randy Newman. He has made like every pixar soundtrack and not to have him in a soundtrack is like not having John Ratzenberger in a pixar film. Am I right???
Randy Newman wasn’t on the original Cars soundtrack.
I thought he was the one who sang that sad song about Nobody going to Radiator Springs any more. Whenever we watch Cars, my son always says at that part when the Cars are waiting for the Interstate Travellers, “the Cars are sad.”
The song “our town” was written by Randy Newman but performed by James Taylor. He did come out in the soundtrack but as a conductor for the orchestra

Did he sing “you got a friend in me?” from Toy Story? If so, why didn’t he just sing “Our Town”?
I almost bought the Cars 1 soundtrack, but it didn’t have the song when DJ and the other guys started messing with Mack on the highway. That is the only song my son would want to listen to in the car. Maybe if it had the Kenny G music that would help him fall asleep?
The original version of Life is a Highway by Tom Cochrane is so much better. Would love to see a Sheryl Crow reprise with Kid Rock, that would be awesome! Since it is Cars we need some Motor City sound.
I wanna hear “Real Gone” As well cause it’s like “You got a friend in me” from the Toy Story Movies.
