Beautiful work!! I am very impressed at the detail. Must be an enourmous amount of man hours in those sweet tracks. I have enough of a problem with storage … I have NO IDEA what I would do to house something like that. Almost wish I HAD that problem! 🙂

I love Slot Cars. Glad to see there are some still around. I used to be in a Slot Racing League waaaay back in the day. Had a slot replica of David Pearson’s #21stock car and a custom class La Cucaracha. Won some pretty nice trophies. 🙂
Mattel has produced three HO-scale CARS slot car sets to date; one “desert racing” set with brown “dirt” track and “dirty” LMQ and Doc, one “neon nights” set with black track and “clean” LMQ & Doc, and the Tokyo Mater set with Dragon McQueen and Tokyo Mater. I have all three, and am hoping there will be a CARS2 set later this year. The cars are quite fast, and will run on any HO slot car layout — though Mattel’s general cluelessness about CARS distribution extends to slot cars as well.
Micro Scalextric had an HO set with LMQ and Chick Hicks in Europe, and does seem to be planning a CARS2 set as well. The cars will also run on any HO slot car layout. (So if Mattel let’s me down, I may have to resort to fleabay importers.)
