Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS 2: The CARS 2 Track Sets
Needless to say for a new movie launch, there will be a massive amount of track sets released for CARS 2. Since the movie involves a lot of racing – there does not seem to be any playsets but mostly all track sets. They will be designated between “low priced,” (under $15), mid priced (under $25) and high end.
Also keep in mind, for now, it looks like the plans are that trackset included vehicles are all plastic and NOT metal diecast.
Mater’s Airport Escape ($14.99)
Porta Corsa Challenge Track Set ($17.99)
Presumably not very canon but looks like fun for kids or for deciding between pizza or burritos or deciding between elope in Vegas or big wedding in Santa Barbara.
But when you have a real big decision, you want the CARS 2 Tokyo Spin Out set … ($29.99) WINNER RULES ALL!
“Speed, jump and spin with the Cars 2 Tokyo Spinout Track Set and be part of Lightning McQueen’s stunt defying race. Load up two Cars vehicles into the set’s dual launchers and the action begins! Watch as the launched Cars vehicles race toward the elevated spinning platform attempting to be spun high above the roaring river below and speed to safety. Only one car can claim victory while the other gets spun out of control and off the track.”
There is another low priced action track set for kids + one other giant playset … might be a Radiator Springs one? There are also a couple plane playset-carrying cases + the fan stand display case.
Just in case you were worried you might have cash left over in May-June.

My Target has the Tokyo set. Im going to try and get it tomorrow. I scored allthe short cards and deluxes today. They brought the case out and never even looked at the March 15th sticker. I was getting nervous and didnt want to push my luck so I ran before asking for the set
Also are the Cars that come with plastic or diecast??
(MET: Trackset CARS are plastic).
All these look great especially the 3rd play set!
I’m going to hold out for slot cars, even if I have to get a Micro Scalextric set from overseas. Mattel and Target really botched the distribution of the Tokyo Mater set, so I’m not expecting anything new from them…
WOW! The third set looks to be really awesome! Someone needs to send us a set so we can test it out. 😀
REALLY Neat!!!
