When Lightning McQueen needs to refuel after a long day’s play, simply place him back on the included gas station charger to refresh his batteries.
“The first Cars film has been a phenomenon because kids love the characters and racing. Cars 2 not only has great racing, but it also has a spy twist that is pure toy bliss,” said Vince Klaseus, senior vice president of Global Toys, Disney Consumer Products. “Cars 2 is our largest toy line yet with more 300 new toys and it offers something for everyone – we have cars that can be dramatically customized in wild and expressive ways, cars that transform and even cars that climb walls.”
There is a preview YouTube video of it in action – at the end you see its scale compared to the large Finn McMissile unveiled this morning along with the giant action Spy Mater …

For all of the work they must have put into this, don’t you think they could have made the Allinol recharger plug into McQueen’s fuel filler instead of his exhaust pipes?
After watching the video… meh. I guess I’m just partial to the “classic” 1:55 diecast line, and that alive McQueen does nothing for me. Seeing the way his mouth moves when talking was also a bit on the creepy side to me, much like an old poorly dubbed martial arts film. The driving around part was pretty cool, but not enough for a $60 price tag.
Bring on the C2 Mainlines!!!
Amazing!
Is that supposed to be the tribute to Doc Hudson on his hood?
(MET: McQueen as the defending champ of the Piston Cup represents the Piston Cup circuit against racers who are the champs of their racing circuits).
I thought of the tribute because it says “Hudson Hornet” on the hood and than
there is something on top of the golden cup which I cant identify.
Is it a small symbolic sideview of Doc?
(MET: Ah, great eye – just checked – you are right. It is the Hudson Hornet and it looks like the Piston Cup is now named the Hudson Hornet Piston Cup … I’ll do a follow up post in a couple days … I guess no one eats an extra cookie when you’re around 🙂 ).
Thank you Met- that was funny!… and yessss…I finally found something…
Greetings from Germany!!
got mine on order today
“cars that transform and even cars that climb walls.”
Mattel?
(MET: That’s actually from Spinmaster – photo & post coming).
Agreed, hopefully this is just preproduction, the matte finish nose cone really detracts from the look of the model.
All Metal body & rubber tires with those features for $60 ….NO PLASTIC
Micro chipped McQueen. Ha. That’s funny. I might get this one and will probably collect the early quasi-diecast Cars from Cars 2 but won’t be buying much of the other stuff.
Think it’s best to stop before in 4 years down the line I am trolling stores for some Finn McMissle variant that’s only been found in Idaho so far.
Pretty cool. I hope they can match up the color on the front a little better once they go into production. I’m not biting at the $60 price tag though.
Pulling out the stops, Mattel. Exciting new Cars
