Disney Pixar CARS 2: It’s Super Bowl Sunday – The New American High Holy Holiday
While Thanksgiving, Christmas and even Halloween is wrapped up in nostalgia and trying to rec-create a mythical aura and setting of family, familia and that blood is thicker than gravy thing … but sometimes does not work out as the dream … there is no delusion with the most American of holidays – Electronic Era … THE SUPER BOWL.
Friends. Beer. Bathtub gin. Manly Embraces. Food slathered in cheese. Screaming obscenities. Gambling. Debates. Food fired in cheese and then slathered in cheese. More wagering. Channel flipping. Fat Guys. Fat Guys Running into Each Other. TV Ads. BIG SCREEN TeeVee … and some sports … well, 11-minutes of action spread out over 12 hours of TV watching … What a day.
(sorry, no official cheerleader oogling – The Pack & Steelers are only 2 of 6 teams without any cheerleaders – can you name the other 4 teams?)
Even if the game is bad, it’s the Super Bowl of ads and even if them’s bad, you have a ostrich farm of chicken wings to work through.
But NOW you have a reason to watch – Disney Pixar CARS 2 wise … the new Lightning McQueen and Mater will make a live appearance on the Fox pre-game show (the one that airs between 11 AM & 3 PM PST) – not the pre-pre-game show and not the pre-pre-pre game show. Those who can record it in HD and we’ll put it up!
However if it’s still snowy and un-plowly, McQ & Mater might not make it … but then Fox would have to return some money so I would pretty much count it.
You still have a few minutes to make a few exotic bets … of course, in a city or state where sports books are legal. But I know you would never place an illegal wager.

Quentin Tarantino’s Fav Films of 2010 includes Toy Story 3.
Can anyone build this for less than $2k?
A free chart for which airline will nickel, dime & $120 you for now …
If you have a Garmin and wonder what SHE looks like … turn right here.
Have you ever thought your life would be complete if there was only a Calvin & Hobbes keyword phrase search of EVERY C&H comic strip …. you can cross it off your bucket list … and why does kicking the bucket mean to die?
Have you ever thought – these cheese crackers would be better if there was MORE CHEESE and less wheat/flour? These crisps from Kitchen Table Bakers are freakin’ amazing … they are basically crispy, crunchy cheese, cheese & more cheese in a round form … kind of spendy to get 4 boxes from Amazon but maybe it’s available in your area.
Good luck Packers and or Steelers. Entertain me!
The kids and I are big Transformers fans, the Chevrolet commercial was pretty good, as were most of the others. Bumblebee tossing the would be smasher and saying “That’s gonna hurt in the morning”, Classic! Good game too, down to the last minute.
Speaking of Transformers, the DOTM Toy Fair pics are online and they look awesome! Can’t wait for Cars 2 ones as well!
Loved the Roseanne getting hit with a log.
The Bud Light commercial with the dogs serving beer and the Little Darth Vader with the VW commercials, those were good
Taking “Cars” for the Cars.com ad, totally cool
Black eye who? ruined the Dirty Dancing song, Slash showing up was cool.
Nascar / Daytona 500 commercials were okay…
Doritos commercials were okay
All time favorite was the beaver saving the guy from the washed out bridge.
Commercials were better last year.
sorry about the anthem… and the peas too… guess there is always next year…
Best commercial not seen during the game – Volkswagen Commercial: The Force featuring mini Darth Vader!
It was leaked early and received over 10 million views on YouTube so they scrapped showing it during the game:

That one was too funny!
(MET: I saw the VW ad air – but maybe they just bought a local pod – not as expensive as buying it nationwide for $3 MM … I do not believe CARS showed up in the pre-game show, did anyone see them?)
They were there. They showed them for about 10 seconds sitting in front of the stadium and then they drove off the screen right before Maria Menounos talked to Owen Wilson.
This one definitely aired — instant classic!!
The Packers won! The commercials were awesome!
Congrats to the Pack! But Next year it’s going to be a different green team(Jets).
Does anyone know scotts email?

I emailed you Scott’s email address just now.
The Dorito’s commercial where the dude brings the fish, the plant and grandpa back to life with crumbs was hilarious! 😆
I liked little Darth Vader starting the Volkswagen.
hoooooo burrrrrr ….. that was a good one too! 😀
The Pepsi Max commercial was awesome!
That had me cracking up. Looking forward to watch The Fast Five.
The Green Bay Packers do have cheerleaders, but they are not their own cheerleaders, as it were; the cheerleaders of the Packers are the University of Wisconsin Green Bay Dance Team.
Lions, Bears, Giants, and Browns have no cheerleaders.
I would have guessed Buffalo and not the Giants.
The G-Men tried cheerleaders for one season, they were so ill-recieved by fans they were canned. Thankfully! Seriously what’s the point of cheerleaders in pro sports? Doesn’t the sport itself draw in the fans??
The Buffalo Bills have the Buffalo Jills as their Cheerleaders.

Our lowly Detroit Lions have no cheerleaders…another reason not to go to the games! Go Pack!
Go PACK GO
Lightning McQueen and Mater at the Superbowl? Awesome!
GO STEELERS!!!!
Gotta love Calvin and Hobbes!
